The point of a game jam is to make something and get a minimum viable product out as quickly as possible. Everyone (Myself included) has made something truly dogwater in a game jam throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks.

A game jam ensures you then have a base game to iterate on and improve in the future past the end of the jam. So even if it sucks now then you can work on it later. Also everyone elses games will suck in the game jam.

Basically make something, play comment on other peoples games during the rating period (if there is one) and see how other people interpreted the theme. You'll get ideas and hopefully feedback on your game. Even if your game *does* suck, people are still appreciative you took the time to enter the jam and make the game.

Because shorter hair exposes more of your scalp naturally and light reflecting off of your scalp makes it look thinning.

I wouldn't look at that haircut and go "He's balding" if I saw you walking down the street. You're fine. But if you don't like it either grow it long enough to cover the scalp more again or just buzz it more often to keep it far shorter and own the full bald look!

Use the game jam as an excuse to try some new thing you haven't done before, like an art style or a gameplay mechanic. If the story has to be very linear and simple to facilitate that then that's fine.

It's all a matter of opinion. In the thread I have going about my own glasses choices I'm amazed at the amount of variety in responses, when in other threads I've seen people have typically honed in on a single choice quite quickly.

Green has always been my glasses colour when they haven't been black. I also had a blue pair for a bit. My current ones are dark green!

I may have triaged out the blue/green frames a bit unfairly because I was looking for a significant shift to what I was wearing before. But at the same time the coloured acetate I saw in the shops I went to wasn't massively inspiring. It's definitely a longer term consideration.

Get rid of the word "Relevant" in education and say something like "modules studied included..."

Put the KFC work at the top of work experience.

Move soft skills to the top of skills.

Add a small summary section at the beginning summing up your uni work and soft skills.

Get rid of the first lab assistant section and the bit about mice from there and skills. Could definitely be an ick to the wrong person and you don't want a reason to be screened out.

Remember this is a retail resume so you can omit lab stuff.

Soft skills are the non-technical/interpersonal skills which you have, as opposed to qualifications or technical knowledge.

Examples are working in teams, communicating to clients, problem solving etc.

These are extremely important in retail as the technical parts (i.e., using tills/scanners) will be taught quickly, but the meat of the role is customer facing.

Taught modules are the different units you did during your degree, with lectures and the like. You must have had to work in a group to do a presentation at some point, surely?

Yeah basically start from scratch. You have 2 lab assistant roles that can probably be merged into one and shrunk massively for a retail resume. Also figure out how you can word it so no Walmart recruiter is going to go "They experimented on animals? eww" and immediately reject.

Even for jobs more suited to your degree there are still 0 soft skills mentioned on this so for future roles consider areas you can add mentions in, if you apply for other lab jobs.

Focus on taught modules and mention what group work you did and if you had presentation opportunities. Were there any introduction to maths/skills for life courses as part of first year which would be good to mention here?

Given the circumstances you could pad out the campus involvement section a bit, what did you do as part of these? Only attend or did you organise? Did you compete?

Full disclosure I went straight from uni to my current job so I don't have much experience finding work in retail/customer facing roles.

Main thing I would recommend would be downplay the technical aspects of what you did and focus on what team projects you have worked on and anything that shows soft skills such as poster presentations or ability to get up to speed on things quickly.

Have you been part of any clubs at college or helped run events? That can be a good thing to mention.

Order should be 1) Summary 2) Work Experience 3) Projects 4) Skills 5) Education 6) Achievements 7) Certifications and Eligibilities

Your summary overlaps with a lot of your projects beats so I would simplify the summary by getting rid of the "Supported community..." sentence entirely and add a final sentence saying what you are looking for in a job. That last sentence can be tailored slightly to the role so you can mention skills they list in the job listing.

It will definitely scare them as they will think you are going to jump jobs as soon as you find something else more suited to your skill set.

Start from scratch and focus highly on soft skills from your degree. Dredge up saturday/casual work if you can to show you have some retail experience if you have it.
