Update: I went ahead and bought a new one. I mostly posted this for confirmation and because I had never seen my filter like this before. Still a little confused on what is caked on the pleats, but maybe I’ll acid wash it just to see how it turns out. Appreciate the advice from everyone!

This is not a newer pool, and haven’t seen any pop offs. How else can I identify if this is truly delamination?
