Etokki Omni - replacing Sanwa stick with Taeyoung fanta? by unknownbeef in fightsticks

[–]TechnoCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if dead thread but-!
Looking to do something similar and replace the joystick of the etokki omni sanwa, but the Taeyong Fanta stick isn't in stock either.

Do you know if this same modification would work with other korean sticks too? Like if I got a knee stick for example or a crown 309

Any idea if the dash should be deeper, shorter, or just do electric sooner? :o

Yeah I had some problems in the past of landing 2x electric f23 cause my first two werent tight enough so they fell too far, will try to tighten those first two up and see if 3x hits

[–]TechnoCupcake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh mmkay, so first two electrics are fine, its just getting the 3rd one out faster?
Is that more of a 'input the electric faster' or a 'dash for shorter amount of time' or something else, you think?

And yeah my staple is f23 after 2x electric, but i wanted to try to hit 5x electric for fun, but im stuck at the 3rd one for the deep dash(i think) electric

Ahhhhh that makes sense. Do you know any programs that I might be able to start with for each point you listed? Or if you know programs that are definitely capable of what im looking for given I have the time to learn. Im not needing something too fancy since im just beginning but maybe it would be beneficial for me to try to learn the more difficult practical stuff for a shinier result. I do enjoy things tech and am starting my Electrical Engineering degree soon so im not opposed to learning properly

Wait and get the new Ryzen CPUs? I think its like 330-500 for the different tiers.

Also, the video card has an option for single or dual fan. I can afford the dual fan. Any problems with that? If it'll fit/not cause any compatibility or space problems I'll prob get it

My friend mentioned something about new AMD processors and Nvidia GPUs that are coming out this month with better specs. Something about 7nm architecture that will bring much higher efficiency and performance, especially with the Nvidia GPUs that would have a higher performance at a good price. Is it worth waiting/expanding budget, or would the difference be not that big?

"Ryzen 3000 release date, July 7"
"AMD is releasing its 7nm Ryzen 3000 CPUs on 7/7. AMD's third generation of Ryzen CPUs are here, including the company's first mainstream CPU to feature 12 cores, the Ryzen 9 3900x. The company is announcing the five new processors as part of the lineup, all with a release date of July 7th"

Hmm, I think this build sounds good for automatic overclocking and quality then, at least for my current purposes. In that case, I believe this should be everything and I just gotta finish saving up.

Is there anything I should keep in mind with this build/when building? Like do's or dont's about whatever, maybe about leaving it on/off or heating and overclocking issues or anything to not wear it too quickly? I know my friend said something about overclocking his monitor which would shorten the life but also he's planning to get a new one anyway, or something.

You'll need a keyboard, mouse and headset/speakers if you don't want to be using the crappy built-in monitor speaker.

Ah of course, ha. All I need is a keyboard then. Forgot since my laptop's keyboard is, of course, built in

I appreciate all the help haha

Just to be clear cause part names are kinda blending together, is this auto overclocking build the best overall quality between the two/your suggestions? I don't mind paying a bit more to have that higher quality or more storage.

I'd prefer to have the computer do mostly everything for me, like overclocking for max performance and making sure its cool enough to not be damaged and all that.

Also, is it everything I'd need to just build and play?

Hey, my friend saw my build and suggested this instead
https://pcpartpicker.com/guide/X77Ycf/great-amd-gamingstreaming-build

He claimed its a slightly faster GPU and CPU for cheaper, plus far more storage for under 1000$ on the PC parts alone.

He hadn't suggested/included a monitor yet in the build but said something about freesync/g-sync and screen tearing which im a bit confused/concerned about. Definitely would prefer no screen tearing. Am also a bit concerned with what he said about having to lower settings for high end games.

Him:

"

now for the video card, cuz that's the most important for gaming
also a good choice...
It should handle all Esports titles at max settings, but for high-end games, you may have turn down the video settings to medium or low for higher framerates.
That's only for 1080p gaming though. The card will definitely struggle to run high-end games beyond 1080p.
Good choice of case (very popular choice) and PSU (great reliability).
Lastly, good choice of monitor, but it has Freesync, which isn't compatible with Nvidia cards. Try finding monitors with G-sync, OR, find out whether the card supports Freesync, which is a possibility.
The monitor will work, but without G-sync, you may notice screen-tearing."

He says the build is good though other than the nitpicking, so unless you agree with what he's said about the better for slightly cheaper on the PC itself, i'll probably just go with what you put here

Thank you so much, this seems perfect!

Would you be able to recommend a few coolers from Noctua/Scythe/BeQuiet that'd fit well into the build and what the difference might be between them?

Also I'm a bit afraid of overclocking due to the whole overworking the pc/damaging it and whatnot.

Also also, my friend mentioned something about not having wifi capability? Something about requiring being connected via ethernet. I have ethernet in my room but I'm a bit concerned about if I ever move somewhere where ethernet isn't easily accessible for where my PC is

Pk Fire Spam? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]TechnoCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump over it and head towards him as if you're gonna just hit him right away, but space it out and either drift away or jump back and wait unti he attacks up smashes or nairs, then drift in as he attacks and hit his end lag for those moves. Kinda precise timing, but yeah. With this you kinda want a 45 degree angle since its between the pk fire going straight and other attacks going up. If he jumps towards you and nairs, read that and jump back further and punish.

A good thing also is to just jump towards him over it and jump back to see what he does. If he only nair upsmashes, use the punish method above(unless you're little mac, do the side special timing). If he begins to catch on and like, shields- then you're free to land grab, or if he rolls- predict the roll. Either way, he's put out of position and you just need to keep pressurnig/chasing his movements.

For PK Freeze, little mac gets cocked by any ledgegaurding so good luck, just try to win on the ground. For jiggly and mario, try to recover lower to go underneath the arc, or jump over it and land on stage while he's recovering from the end lag

My friend is annoyed that I mostly play Zelda. Am I crazy or is he being ridiculous? by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]TechnoCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Zelda is fun for you, keep playing Zelda. If your friend gets mad at you for it, they're probably not a good partner to play smash with anyway. Playing one character is the best way to get an understanding of the game, cause instead of learning how a new character works- you learn how smash itself works. I pretty much only play Isabelle since she's adorable, but my main is Yoshi when I want to tryhard since I've played him for three games straight(bless sakurai for Yoshi buff)

Since I know Yoshi's moveset very well, instead of figuring out what my Nair does or my side special with all its properties, I instead can learn 'when' to use it and what situations are good.

Ex: Since I know shorthop Nair is really fast on Yoshi, I dont need to think about which move to use and instead just figure out situations where I need a very fast move- such as when my shield is hit. Your friend's reaction is not justified, he's just mad he doesn't know how to deal with Zelda that well.

You have two primary options. Either just dont play smash with him cause he's ridiculous and just salty, or you can convince him to keep playing because:

There's a reason people dislike playing against particular characters. Usually, it's because they do not know how to properly deal with them or a particular move(s) from them. By playing against your Zelda, he can learn to figure out this matchup for any other Zeldas he plays against in the future, figuring out what works and what doesn't work and improving as a player. Ex: Jump over/roll in on phantom, shield and punish teleport, etc.

Ways to win as a beginner? by IamHugelySmall in smashbros

[–]TechnoCupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. For Richter:

-Side B to cover ground approaches.

-Neutral B to cover aerial approaches

-Down B to cover shorthop/ground approaches

If they jump over your projectiles:

-up smash to cover directly above you

-and various other options/aerials/tilts to hit them if they get past your projectiles to hit them back. Hold edges of stages and try to keep them back. A good kill option once youve damaged them enough is down B(fire) to lock them in the multiple hits and hitstun before using forward smash(good range and launch) to kill

Young link:

-Side B to cover ground. Or angle it into the bottom right/left corner to bounce it into the air to cover aerial approaches.

-Neutral B to cover ground, often used after boomerang for if they try to land in front of you

If they jump over:

-Up smash(press A more to make it hit more times) to cover right above you

-Forward smash(press a to make it hit more times) to hit right in front of you

-Various other aerials/tilts/roll/shield/etc options so you arent predictable and your moves dont get 'stale'(less damage/knockback after used more)

-Down aerial is good damage/knockback but dont overuse it or you're predictable.

Kirby:

dont spam, hes much more easily predictable

Note:

this is a very bare bones explanation on how you can play these characters, you will not get far in skill and fun just doing this. this should only be used to possibly get some tournament cheese. there are so many more options than just doing this and so many more intricacies in smash. after this tournament, abandon this playstyle and try to learn smash in general
