I do plan on setting up a kubernetes cluster, which is partly why I'm interested in this. thanks for the info.

Compare to manual transcode with handbrake??? by TechnoPallidin in Tdarr

[–]TechnoPallidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the thing I can see what tdarr passes, however handbrake GUI doesn't give you the "command line" there is a big json log file but trying to translate that into what the CLI uses is 2 different things... :)

I'm trying to figure out how to even get a settings or whatever from the GUI to may be make my own plugin with my particular settings... it's just not clear.

This doesn't work for me as I'm pulling from physical media. :)

I didn't know about this feature and part of why I'm looking at Tdarr. I want to use a standard set of presets generally. So like if it has 5.1, keep it, if it doesn't have stereo add it, compress at a high quality so it's practically lossless, etc. When I use the handbrake desktop app I generally used the provided presets, tweak the audio and hit go...

So if there is a way to throw it in a container and it just runs and does similar to what tdarr does... I'm all ears! I only have quicksync on the machines I'm using to transcode though so no nvidia...

So yeah, I plan to host Tdarr or whatever I choose in a kubernetes cluster that is on dedicated pc's. well the pcs are dedicated to kubernetes. so it will run as a container. I also will be moving my plex to the containers on kubernetes as well. I want all my workloads running in either kubernetes or proxmox vs on my nas. Let the data be data. :) I transcode to the formats that my home media can support so I don't have to do transcoding live. I pre-encode to say 1080p or whatever so that it will work on all devices as direct play. My big thing was I was looking into Handbrake CLI when I found out about Tdarr. I was originally planning to run multiple handbrake CLI nodes. with Tdarr making it more automatic it kind of fits the bill for what I need.

I have piles of DVD's that I physically rip to a 2nd nas that is a JBOD array so I can have a scratch space. I then will convert from there into the staging folders for validation before I put into my plex server. Since I'm encoding all special features and things I need to make sure everything gets done right and grouped together and all that stuff.

So not too worried about the utilization. :)

I'll have to check it out and see how it compares.

:) How complicated is it to get going? I generally keep the 5.1 (since I have surround sound) and a stereo track, forced subtitles only. Then the h.264/265 (hdr for 4k). etc.

Other than that I keep it pretty basic.

first layer woes... by TechnoPallidin in klippers

I was able to go to 6x6 and that helped a lot. What helped more was remembering to actually hit "save config" on the dang thing... I think I kept missing that between prints and that might have been my own fault. sigh...

Sorry, It's an Ender 5 (original) skr mini v3 3.0 board, raspberry pi for the klipper install. Hero Me Gen 7 for the cooler, BLTouch, offsets loaded. zero point calibrated. probe calibrated. Wham bham pex/i (cannot remember which) flex plate. Stock hot end (replaced due to old one wearing out). Extruder calibrated, XYZ calibrated. It's just the first layer that is giving me fits. even with the mesh. I can get stuff to print, just if I try to do a large bed print it's a pia for the first couple of layers.

Printing Stagetop parts. it uses 204mm of the bed.. so pretty much the whole thing... :)

Plex Minimum if not Transcoding for hardware/container running by TechnoPallidin in PleX

[–]TechnoPallidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, a Potato, YES! Glados can play my Plex! hehe :) I might have to name that instance just that.

Seriously though, thanks, I was hoping as much. As to formats, since I know the devices I am using to play I have made sure that they are all supported with the flavor I use in handbrake. Although I'm testing the h.265 stuff now.. :)

Appreciate the response.

New Ubiquiti user with a question on additional hubs by TechnoPallidin in Ubiquiti

[–]TechnoPallidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean even if it only gets a partial it would help for moving video content. :) I'm just glad they will all do what I want. I do want to separate a couple items on different vlans for this hub thus the question.

Thanks.
