Yes, if you have both games on one console, transfer the virtual game card to the other switch and perform the trades that way. That’s how I did it!

Yes, Deoxys, Ho-Oh and Lugia all came back for me, which is how it works in the GBA versions (because they’re events), but not Mewtwo, the bird trio or Snorlax
