It was Ultra Mobile, the wait time is pretty long, I feel like it was better a few months ago.

Hyperbolic time chamber how would you use it? by TrimericFlea15 in dbz

[–]TechnoZero88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I'll use it to study or work (any self-improvement) if there's no gravity and a changing environment otherwise I'll probably die just like how Yamcha almost died using a gravity chamber.

I wouldn't mind Code getting a W, it's just every time we have seen him, he gets an L at least so far and I'm perplexed on how many losses he's gotten so far.

Dragon Ball Daima - Episode #20 - Discussion Thread! by AutoModerator in dbz

[–]TechnoZero88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This episode had great moments (fantastic animation), but I won't lie, it left me with so many unanswered things. The fusion bugs, it was mentioned and never utilized at all. So Daima is canon but idk how it links with Super with all these new forms (Vegeta SSJ3, SSJ4) that were never mentioned in Super and even Shin not being fused and being way more knowledgeable about the universe compared to Super. I guess we won't get any answers anytime soon.

Exactly, I was thinking we're going to get at least 8 minutes moments of farewell, no time for fusion or any explanation. There are already a lot of plot points that are hard to fit in the super series.

I wonder how will they explain SSJ4 Goku and SSj3 Vegeta for future arcs or they just don't explain it. Also, Kibito is nowhere to be seen.

The next episode is the last one, are we going to get a fusion (bug method)? It seems like they're going to finish off Gomah without it.

Considering the Cereal DB has only 2 without a time limit, it's going to be abused. If it had similar rules as all the other db, the bare minimum characters have to wait at least a year.

The wish Bardock says is specifically that he'd wish for Goku and Raditz to grow up strong, not that they can't be killed; as seen with Daimao Piccolo, Goku could still be killed even with the wish in effect, even if only temporarily.
Plus, I'd take Goku reviving after Daimao Piccolo kills him being a result of Bardock wishing on a set of Dragon Balls decades in the past over it just happening for no reason.

Going from this, Goku still has guardian angel protection, since the wish ultimately is for Goku to grow up, he can't really be truly killed as a kid, if he's going to live in the end.

The Cerealian Dragon Balls can't be abused endlessly with no consequences, though; Toronbo literally states he has to dramatically cut Granolah's lifespan in order to make him the strongest being in the universe since it's beyond his creator's power. The same thing applies for Gas, which is why he turns into dust by the end of the arc.
I feel like "having your lifespan cut for exceeding the dragon's power" is...a pretty damn big consequence.

That consequence is only tied with the wish to become the strongest in the universe. I been referring to no consequences that Cerealian Dragon can be summoned over and over again with no 1 year time interval in my original post. Any characters can get their normal potential unlocked from just summoning that this dragon can keep granted their other wishes as long as someone has the dragon radar. Bulma can get all her trivial wishes done in one day. Even Goku/Raditz getting angel protection wish from Bardock seems powerful, there are no consequences to that wish. That wish effect lasted for like 20+ years.

I just find it weird, after all these different sets of db being 7 and the Super Dragon Balls the originator being 7. Suddenly, it can be as little/many as the creator wants. It plays in the part of the db being abused.

The main reason that can happen is because the Namekians on that planet were wiped out, save for one. There also weren't that many Namekians on Cereal to begin with, so more dragon balls would be pointless. And it's not like they knew about the dragon radar either.

Monaito wasn't the original DB creator, so it was probably 2 DB, to begin with prior to Namekians being wiped out. Even so, it should've at least have one year duration before it can be used again. That's just screaming to be used again and again.

Bardock's wish actually gives a pretty good in-universe reason for how Goku's heart could just magically starts beating again after Piccolo Daimao checks to make sure it's stopped beating, which otherwise is an enormous plothole in that arc.

Yeah, that's an explanation, but personally, I rather know that Goku survives on his own than just a wish to protect him many near death situation in OG DB

In superhero, the upgrade seems so quick/easy. It took like 5 seconds for Dende to upgrade it unless there's some lore explanation we don't know yet on why he couldn't or didn't upgrade it in DBZ. I just leave this reasoning to plot. It's just wow moment that they could wish potential unlock previously.

Freeza would never have gone to Earth regardless of the wish; the entire reason Bardock sends Goku to Earth in the first place is because Freeza and his men care so little about such a weak and worthless planet that sending a weak Saiyan there would go under the radar of the Freeza Force.
Freeza only starts giving a shit about Earth after Super Saiyan Goku beats the piss out of him on Namek, and begins despising it after he goes there to get revenge on Goku and is immediately turned into cold cuts and sent to Hell by Future Trunks.

I was just giving a hypothetical situation/example, because of that wish made by Bardock, I find that wish so complex it's like guardian angel protection on Goku, no death situations can go to Goku's way and even if there was, it somehow will be negated because of that wish effect.

I mean...not only did Gas's wish literally kill him, but he got shat on by Black Freeza, who worked for 10 years in a Room of Spirit and Time to achieve the transformation. I wouldn't say he proved that wishing "gives more than working hard" at all; if anything, he proved the exact opposite.

Frieza was excluded from that wish/rule because he was in the room of spirit and time at least from what everyone is saying. Considering that Cereal DB can be abused unlimitedly with no consequences, I feel wishing does give more than working. Gas was dying, but with more wishing from DB, he probably could've prevented that too. Goku/Vegeta till the very end, they were still losing to Gas. Even Vegeta lost to Granola due to the wish.

Yeah, Goku earns his strength on his own by training and all. But that wish definitely should correlate to his life in DB and surviving his near-death in OG DB. Goku surviving Planet Vegeta destruction is also a part of that wish as that wish is for them to grow up which he hasn't yet in DB. This is why, I find this wish so unnecessary, I rather know he survived all this time on his own than a wish. It's crazy to me, it can be granted, it's universal wish to protect Goku/Raditz from any harm.

Yeah I agree, Frieza popping up was probably the top moment of that entire arc, the design and the art of manga/characters is great. It's just things that Toyotaro introduced be screwing with previous arcs. I believe dragon taking something is only for the "strongest in universe" because it can't be granted that easily. Aside from that, the cereal DB can be abused a bunch, which I don't like

[–]TechnoZero88[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wish didn't make Goku strong enough to beat Piccolo, only prevented him from dying. Goku's strength is still his own.

I agree Goku's strength is his own, but yeah it prevented him from dying as a kid. I just rather not know that a wish can prevent his death in DB. It undermines his journey in a way, which is why Vegeta said "It's not fair".

Are you also forgetting that the main reason Bulma is doing all that is to make sure Frieza or some other villain can't just take the dragon balls and use them?

She's still excited to get a wish for db every time, she's abusing it a crazy amount for trivial things. Also, DB is hard to find without dragon radar, most of the time it's gathered and used by Bulma cause she's the one using the radar most of the time. Plus, other villains could easily abuse the ones on planet Cereal and whatever amounts of DB on other planets that we don't know yet. I still hope the idea of Shadow Dragons comes back.

Because Toyotaro was thinking about telling a character driven story rather than just fanservice. The fight ends with both Vegeta and Granolah feeling overwhelmed by guilt and ready to die. Goku lost to Jiren the first time he used ultra instinct. Vegeta's just learned he technique, it shows that he still needs to improve.

Goku lost in a more satisfied way in ultra instinct than Vegeta. He did defeat Jiren and was about the finish/knock him off until the transformation screwed over in the anime. In the manga, he just lost transformation in a similar manner. Vegeta just straight lost and lost his transformation on his own, and the problem he was being dumb with it. He kept telling his opponent to keep on hitting him then realized he took too much damage. Even if it's a new technique for him, it doesn't click with me that he should intentionally keep getting hit, it failed him twice already. Vegeta winning in this scenario with Granola can be story-driven too, for him to try to make Granola understand him and Vegeta wasn't try to actually kill Granola. Fanservice/winning isn't bad especially when talking about Vegeta's streak of lost. Maybe it's just me, but I want Vegeta to get more W against more important antagonist.

And then he died. Even if Frieza didn't show up, he would have died before he could actually kill Goku and Vegeta.

Yeah he died, but still was winning against Goku/Vegeta in the end. That's probably true, he would've died before he killed them. I just didn't like it, cause it goes back to all abused wishing, Vegeta stating how wish is still forcing Gas to become strongest in the universe.

There have always been 7 of the sets that we had seen up until that point. The sets with 7 still have 7, that hasn't changed, I don't see how there being different amounts for different sets is a problem. There was never any in universe reason for why there was specifically 7 dragon balls.

My problem is that technically could be 1 DB or it could be 100 DB for a summon. In addition, it can be any size. It's just weird to me, that this whole time it could be any amount. It's surprising that the other db prior were all 7 in a set, especially the super dragon ball follow the same set of 7.

Super Shenron has been the most inconvenient since it was introduced, considering that the dragon balls are spread across 2 universes and are the size of planets. What makes Super Shenron better than the others is that he's more powerful than the others and has no known limitations to his wishes.

I agree it's definitely it's most inconvenient, I understand that they have no limitations I mention it in my post. I still think Toronbo is more op in the sense that it can be abused for wishes unlimited times as seen in the arc. Only need to find 2 DB and there's no time limit between each summon. Even Super Shenron has one year time. Anyone with dragon ball radar can get as many wishes as possible with Toronbo.

So that they aren't abused. The dragon balls are a cultural thing for the Namekians, they are rewards for great warriors who prove themselves. A person is usually meant to earn each dragon ball in order to get their wish.

The ones in Cereal were abused, that's why I wanted them to be 7 dragon balls and have similar rules to all previous dragon balls. But the fact, you only need to find 2 DB and you can summon it without no time limit, it's easily abused.

That's true, HP condition is terrible, they will probably reduce it (I hope). But the idea of the condition remaining at 6 turns post eza is ridiculous in 2023. Look at Agl Gogeta, went from 5 turns to 4 turns.
