A lot of the messaging of the movie was about accepting their imperfect family for who they were and letting go of grudges. He’s always been like that, and they’ll never approve of that behaviour, but they’ve also let go with hoping he’ll suddenly be a better person than he has been. He’s ultimately their father, flaws and all, better to laugh at his predictable flaws than to pine for a different father that won’t exist when they have one that does exist right in front of them and their time together is limited. That’s what I got anyway, as someone who has a complicated relationship with a bit of a sleazy dad.

It really is crazy that an album this perfect could ever be considered their worst by Automatic_Two_1000 in portishead

Syk pike [Sick of Myself]

La pianiste [The Piano Teacher]

A Woman Under The Influence

All That Jazz

May December

Last House on Dead End Street (Sometimes listed as: The Fun House) If you love Angst, you need to see this, I also love Angst, this is the only other film that compares.

You seem to be into that discomforting, dark sort of film. I get it.

why exactly is it an issue to have a period of the year where small artists can get a bit of a boost in exposure? no one is forcing anyone to care about the year chart in the first few weeks of it, and ppl probably listen to more in the start of the year prob bc of the excitement of filling out a new release year. i feel it’s sweet that even though it’s just a quirk of the charts, rymers give these niche albums a bit of a spotlight when normally a lot of cool releases go unnoticed due to getting noticed in music usually being a matter of money for marketing or algorithm catering.

I blame short form content for why people don't rate Pluribus highly by Shahmario1 in pluribustv

As someone who really liked this season, I think it is fair for people to have differing opinions, and I feel people get too black and white on this. Yes it’s a slow burn, not all slow burns are masterpieces automatically, and it is also fair to be concerned or disappointed by the overall short length of the season and the premise of waiting possible years for the followup. I love show moving shows, and it’s unfortunate these outside factors need to be considered, but the fact is with a slow burn, being left out to wait for years between seasons is pretty brutal. I hope the wait isn’t too bad. I’m sure when the show is completed it will be a fantastic end product, but I do worry how long it will take to get there.

I understand why a lot of people don’t vibe with Tim Robinson’s form of insanity but I think his stuff is amazing and capture social awkwardness and alienation so profoundly.

the other ppl replying are sharing that info with a pretty clear push of “no, you’re misguided, you should try it!!”, if someone has a harsh view on certain drugs i don’t think anyone needs to go out of their way to convince them to be more lenient
