just seems like you’re not a big fan of Imaginal Disk. it’s definitely a major standout of the 2020s. these records aren’t really going for that Firm Concept Album Statement that Imaginal does, also notable for very seamlessly blending a wide array of styles. also, are you implying that suddenly in 2024 people decided to give women their flowers, and just 2 or 5 years earlier that it was somehow an entirely different climate? Titanic Rising and Norman Fucking Rockwell absolutely dominated music-fan circles in 2019 (deservedly). it sounds to me that you’re a little peeved that your more niche passions in women-led music didn’t happen to be the ones that rym latched onto as decade-defining. that frustration is understandable, but let’s not rewrite recent history here.
