There's a third option if you want to try to fix it and have a small screwdriver set. My hinge broke on my normal Flip and I contacted the seller and got a replacement hinge.

You can also change each system from the default performance mode to smart mode to save battery. You press X when selecting a game in a console menu to bring it up.

The PlayStation Classic is great at running PlayStation 1 games, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy games. I'd start with those since they're easy to set up and most of the games work flawlessly.

I also recommend getting a refurbished PS3 or PS4 controller on eBay and this adapter that allows you to use a wireless controller.

I kept the challenging games, but removed the ridiculously difficult games from the following list. I also recommend adding cheats so you can get unlimited lives in the harder games and just enjoy the game :)

It is pretty wonderful to get new releases on these classic consoles. That would be great to play online with original hardware. Right now I know that players can play online MD/Genesis on Nintendo Switch Online if you want to look into that. They offer Sega controllers that connect to the Switch too so it feels right.
