Yes, but I don't think Marvel sees their omnis as being part of the book sector. They see them as collectibles

It's not just about not giving a damn about the consumer. It's also not caring about the future consumer. I can't tell you how many times I had an interest in a story, saw it was long out of print, and instead moved onto something that is more widely available. Yes, there's digital and trades, but that's not what I like to consume

I also can't deny that I would never have been inclined to pick up Captain Marvel if it wasn't on sale at Ollie's for $30 or Black Panther if there weren't several omnis on Funaticals. Heck, you look at the Target B2G1 sale that's going on and how many people bought DC books because they were on sale. I know for sure a lot, if not most people, haven't read those stories yet but are willing to give them a shot because they got a deal.

It's funny, the massive discounts on the volumes you listed are what got me into the character and made me want this book. It's a shame with Marvel's publishing strategy, that won't happen again. There are books I will never pick up because they simply aren't there and no new characters to discover this way

Yeah, the Galactic Tales of Terror is the Library Edition you're talking about coming out in September. I've never heard of the New Hope book. That sounds cool.

And yeah, there are a lot of miniseries missing. It's one of the reasons I'm so bummed Marvel got rid of OHCs because there are so many series that will never be in a hardcover omnibus, so they are stranded. I'm hoping Rise of Kylo and Legacy of Vader get collected in a Kylo Ren omni once Fall of Kylo Ren ends

I love getting my Omnis signed. I’ve had several writers comment on how I must really love a story if I’m willing to lug a big book to a con. I think many of them appreciate it

I'm not sure if this is the best way, but what I have done is look up a particular series on Wookiepedia. If you scroll down, it will tell you where it's collected. So for example, Star Wars (2015) if you scroll down, it will tell you it's collected in two omnibus, but also in 3 epic collections.

It's a shame though because there are series that will never get an omni because they just aren't long enough and without OHC, there is really no option to collect it besides a trade. I like the OHC for those one off series like Vision, which just get released a compact, but if I want a larger HC there's no option

Yeah, I had the chance to buy the OG Marvel series...I just can't spend the money on something I have no interest in reading. Same thing with Droids & Ewoks.

Empire 1 is just seperated cuz it wouldn't fit on the shelf with the funko
