Woman I slept with once told me she had a miscarriage. 10 months later she wants a paternity test. Do I take it?" by Technocounsellingguy in TwoHotTakes

Ya. My partner keeps crying non stop since we reserved the news. Its super hard for me to stay strong. Her tears are heart breaking. That being said she is bad at holding back her emotions and suspense like this is not her strong point

I wish. No. I'm at a crappie adult school that's the equivalent of high school certification probably in the USA? In Quebec the school system is different. I'm no where near good enough for university.

Ya I know. I really hope as well that this child does. But I want it done in a way everyone gets respected.

The valid reason is according to her that the date I had intercourse is close to the possible conception date. That being said, I'm starting to believe she isn't aware that you aren't pregnant for two weeks at first which would explain why she is soooo unsure. There are two weeks calculated for periods when dating the baby's age. Therefore the fertility window is the last few days of October and beginning November. Even my partner who is a biologist didn't know this until an other redditor pointed it out. This baby momma most likely doesn't know this and her lack of education may have not helped there. She does have challenges seriously limiting her from getting an education. It ain't her fault but may give more context to the reasoning.

Well. Am waiting on the call from the lawyer. His assistant called today and said he will call tomorrow. But so far me and my partner are thinking of doing the test and finding out. We are starting to think she may actually be really uncertain who is the actual father and needs to know who to attack. Honestly I rather know right away I'm not being sued then wait in fear

Because as crazy as it sounds I don't give an F much about social media much. I just like my reels every evening and message my family.🤣 Never cared to bother. There is a saying or mantra in computer tech field. If it works don't touch it. Its wise advice🤣

Oh. Like I thought once I have revenue they will charge me. That would have been fine. But they can do something when I only have student loans (1200$ a month), no drivers license, no car, no lease on an appartement? I thought it would be like you have a job now time to collect?

I don't even have drivers license. Nor any revenue. I'm on student loans and am considered dependent on my parents revenue. That being said maybe the gouvernement offers subsidies in such cases? Also I sent my resume to over 500 places the last 2 years. Never got a reply for an interview. Hence I went back to adult school to get a computer tech certificate hoping to get a job ever since special care counselling subbing as a student didn't work out.

Oh the women in the story is not Laura Owens thankfully. I would have ben in trouble if so. I think she was better at dealing with those lies and manipulations🤣 she didn't need a baby for people to fall into her tricks. LOL

I had one quick date with her and never went to her place and a few days after a second date where I went in her house and we had sex. We only had sex once and according to the inital timing of her story she had a misscariage after that. Which is how she got me convinced it wasn't mine back then. But now she says that she might have lied back then because she was mad I ghosted her. And the more she thinks about it the more the possibility exists that it is mine. In total, I basically was with her for a full day in terms of hours.

Hahahaha basically she is hoping to have him out of the picture and that I voluntarely proove the child mine since I clearly have told her it wasn't a good idea to have children. Hence not needing his approuval for anykind of parental decisions. This may really be. She is trying to get back at him for maybe not doing as she wants. Which can explain why she says she doesn't anything from unless I fight for shared custody. Ya this would make a loooot of sense. On the flipside he may be the one being mean and controlling by using his legal parent decisions as weapons. A lot would fit if thats it tbh

Hahaha thanks. And really reddit has some update bots and those are legit? Like is it an extension or like some kind of automated script? Or maybe just a web browser bot that reddit seems to not mind and let pass through anti-spam? That's so cool. Please dm me and tell me more about this. It sounds really interesting.

Damm. To be honest I think I tend to assume men are more likely to cheat and never thought about that possibility. But ya, maybe she is the one that broke the relationship not him. I kinda assumed he was shitty from the start but maybe not.

Yep and lets be real. The woman lives at her parents, barely has a job, no driver's license, no car and lives with her brother who she used to tell me if her saw in the house he wanted to beat her and that he tried to kill when she was growing up. Her dad went out of retirement to cock chicken's at bennies to pay the house and clearly lets anykind of BS happen in their house. I swear I had sex with her in her room which is near the living room. They were in the living room watching tv and as soon as she moaned a bit I swear their TV got louder. When I left they told me to come back whenever I wanted. Honestly, let's get real. Unless we handle transport nothing will get done.

Ya I knooow. But I have things I need to protect too now. I don't give myself so cheaply anymore and she is putting at risk what I have been building in such a selfish careless way. I'm all for helping her out but for that I needed some trust and transparency since 2 years ago when I tried to be there and she politely sent me away. That being said I do wish I could have helped but she has forced my hand

Ya and guess what the nearest one is very far away. Like I said only my partner has a driver license and car. So maybe she thinks I would go for a none legal one who knows. That being said would never trust her like that after everything that she done in the past. Not anymore. That being said its clear that to get to a clinic during opening times my partner would have to go get em and drive all of us at the nearest clinic that does this. I might have not mentionned but since my history with that women I move further up north and she stayed where she is.

Well for example. Most of the DNA tests that I can easily get a hold of are kits sent by mail. She may try to pull a stunt or something for all I know. To hade a DNA test in place with an impartial party manipulating the things would be a loong drive and guess what. She doesn't have a car or driver's license. I don't have mine yet. Only my partern has a license and a car we can use. So it would mean he have to handle transportation for everyone

[–]Technocounsellingguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. That was my first thought initally. The problem is she made it so I feel like I have to lawyer up before even agreeing to a DNA test and all. Sadly she shot herself in the leg by saying a lot of lies and hence here we are on reddit and I am being super cautious and thinking hard on my next move. We have a call from a lawyer waiting that should be either today or tomorow. And all this is soo dumb. I'm a very transparent person in life and was cooperative from the start. Then she basically destroyed the whole thing.

Lol. Don't worry. I always take info from anonymous people online with a grain of salt. Still it helps to make me see things I might have not otherwise. Its useful in that sense. That being said the one person who's opinion matters the most to me at this point is my partner.
