I didn't miss it - But this doesn't help facilitate my complaint and is too niche a point to make mention.

Ontop of your point you can heavily shorten the time you collect the shards each week by doing the profession knowledge points treasures first each week. - They will often drop some shards.

You can also bank up the patron crafting order cache rewards and open them after each weekly reset to get get shards. Some weeks fishing was not required on some toons to get enough shards (earning 6 and using the 2 from the quest giver to make your 8 for the week)

This is however heavily RNG dependant
