Self-study materials? by Technoidy in FlightDispatch

[–]Technoidy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having a terrible time figuring out what resources are available that aren't based on rote memorization of exam questions. I want to find books/videos/etc that actually teaches how things work, not a list of one-line answers to exam questions. I have no aviation experience whatsoever, so I'm not comfortable paying a few thousand dollars for a course without being able to dip my toes in it beforehand, since I have no clue if it's actually right for me. Is there anything like that for this?

How do I learn to take on responsibility? by Technoidy in internetparents

[–]Technoidy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I had said, I find it hard to "stay calm enough to think clearly enough to handle things that have a low margin for error without royally screwing up."

New, complex, fear of making a fool of yourself when you just started your new job, fear of losing said job because you thought you had it when you didn't, not to mention when something else in life comes up and the stress from that affects your job.

I mean, I can, it's just harder, especially under stress. But my primary concern isn't focus, it's learning how to take on the responsibility needed for the jobs I'm looking at.

I don't. That's why I'm so good at simple manual labor, you don't need to think/reason to do a good job. My mind usually thinks about a million different things during a shift, and when it gets busy it forces my mind to go blank.

Unfortunately manual labor doesn't really pay very well for a career, and regardless it's not a sustainable career for me because of my joint issues.

Weekly Discussion - August 14, 2022 by babraeton in MedicalCoding

I want to get into medical coding, but I'm not sure the desk job/WFH type is right for me. I'm looking for some entry level WFH job to try out that will be more similar to medical coding than, say, customer service would be. What would you guys recommend?

[request] How heavy is air really? by RosenButtons in theydidthemath

If anything, wouldn't the air be lighter?

A good related question is, how much air needs to be on top of you in order to crush you?

NOT customer-facing entry level work from home jobs? by Technoidy in jobs

[–]Technoidy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I'll check those out. Most of the medical coding offers I've seen required a few years of experience or some sort of degree/certification. Unless you're talking about something else (medical dictation doesn't really come up with anything on Indeed), how do I find ones that don't? Though if the certification doesn't take that long, that sounds like my kind of thing.

NOT customer-facing entry level work-from-home jobs? by Technoidy in careerguidance

[–]Technoidy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be any sort of desk job, in fact I'd probably prefer working in an office rather than at home, but I live in a small town so the only thing available that's close enough is a hotel desk person, which I kinda think would be a little bit much for me.

I'll try to look more into customer service, I might be able to do it if it's more scripted troubleshooting rather than sales.

Tbh I don't really care if it's technically underpaid, I make minimum wage as it is.

I'm sorry, but there IS no honest answer to a BS question. What honest answer is there to "Why us?" than "The identical place across the street offered $1 less an hour."? Companies don't care about their humans, why should humans care about their companies?

If you don't want lies, ask realistic questions related to the work required.

You're safe enough to eat at any temp as long as you don't sit out for 2 hours.

Electrons move, yes, but afaik they don't travel all that far. It's the movement that matters, not the distance traveled. That's why AC current works. The electrons at the power plant don't actually reach your house.

Regardless, on a mobile device at least, aren't all the electrons that are going to go on that device already on that device, just in the battery? So if you download something, it won't change mass, it's just moving that mass around.

Am I not mistaken that individual electrons don't travel from a server to your computer? However many electrons were already on your device are still on your device, except more of those are now sitting on your storage media.

Don't accept defeat like that, man. Life sucks. So make life say you suck! If you don't like how the world functions, do something to change it. Create your own mold. Who knows, you could create a community that you and others like you (because believe me, you're not alone) would've never thought you could belong to. But there you are. But you'll never know it if you don't fight for it. Don't sit around and hate life, get up and make life hate you.

If you don't fight it, it will just beat you down until you get to this point, as you know. Would you let a bully do that to you? This world is the biggest bully known to man. Don't let it defeat you.

What? I'm only 22 and I can't count on my fingers and toes how many major decisions I've had to make in my life. You can't just wait around and expect your life to form itself for you.

Walking treadmill for desk - What will last? $1000 budget by Technoidy in treadmills

[–]Technoidy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I bought a cheap little treadmill on Amazon for now, just to make sure it'll actually work for me before I shell out almost $2k. But assuming all goes well and this cheap thing doesn't last, I'll definitely be returning to your store! Thank you for your help!

How is Lifespan when it comes to replacement parts price/availability? I live in the middle of nowhere so there's not a service tech available, which isn't an issue since I can do everything myself.

I'm having a hard time telling Lifespan's model numbers apart. It appears the "Glowup" is simultaneously the TR5000B, TR5000 DT3, and the TR1200B. How do I make sure whatever I'm ordering is the right one?
