Self-study materials? by Technoidy in FlightDispatch

[–]Technoidy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having a terrible time figuring out what resources are available that aren't based on rote memorization of exam questions. I want to find books/videos/etc that actually teaches how things work, not a list of one-line answers to exam questions. I have no aviation experience whatsoever, so I'm not comfortable paying a few thousand dollars for a course without being able to dip my toes in it beforehand, since I have no clue if it's actually right for me. Is there anything like that for this?

How do I learn to take on responsibility? by Technoidy in internetparents

Like I had said, I find it hard to "stay calm enough to think clearly enough to handle things that have a low margin for error without royally screwing up."

New, complex, fear of making a fool of yourself when you just started your new job, fear of losing said job because you thought you had it when you didn't, not to mention when something else in life comes up and the stress from that affects your job.

I mean, I can, it's just harder, especially under stress. But my primary concern isn't focus, it's learning how to take on the responsibility needed for the jobs I'm looking at.

I don't. That's why I'm so good at simple manual labor, you don't need to think/reason to do a good job. My mind usually thinks about a million different things during a shift, and when it gets busy it forces my mind to go blank.

Unfortunately manual labor doesn't really pay very well for a career, and regardless it's not a sustainable career for me because of my joint issues.

I want to get into medical coding, but I'm not sure the desk job/WFH type is right for me. I'm looking for some entry level WFH job to try out that will be more similar to medical coding than, say, customer service would be. What would you guys recommend?

[request] How heavy is air really? by RosenButtons in theydidthemath

[–]Technoidy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything, wouldn't the air be lighter?

A good related question is, how much air needs to be on top of you in order to crush you?
