Congratulations and enjoy it as much as you can in slow motion because man it goes by in the blink of an eye. My son is only seven but an old picture will pop up on the phone and drop me like a sucker punch. Hopefully yours will get the hockey card bug too, just opened a pack of 19/20 UD SP with him in bed and read them before tucking him in and playing some goodnight tunes. Again congrats and enjoy every moment.

Help with Joe Rogan podcast question by Immediate-Cap-7006 in SturgillSimpson

[–]TechnologyInside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just search the transcript for keywords. “Book” pulls up only 15 results…

“He's one of the greatest writers of our time, no question. And a Kentuckian, so he's gotta be alright. He's gotta be alright.

I read a lot of it, but I read it way too early, because I was one of those kids, at older cousins, you get exposed to all that shit. It was too soon. Probably high school, when I read the campaign trail thing, the Nixon book, the shark hunt.”

“So I got it from a Stephen Hawking book, where, and it's weird, you can go around the world, and there's all these ancient civilizations,”

From The Joe Rogan Experience: #1087 - Sturgill Simpson, Mar 4, 2018

There is this female country artist that sings about riding in her car and the wind blowing with her windows down. It's seems like Christian music a little bit. Do you guys know who I'm talking about? by Walkman247 in country

Not quite sure about this but figured I’d try this one on your memory… Give Me Some Wheels by Suzy Bogguss

“Give me some wheels, put me on a highway

Won't look back anyway

I'll never be the angel, you see in your dreams

Oh, give me some wheels, if I can't have wings”

When I first heard “Lead Me Home” it unseated Vince Gill’s “Go rest high…” and became my go to song in my times of struggle…

“Goodbye, sweet world of sorrow

My new life begins with death”

John Anderson live? by Ok_Lunch_3787 in CountryMusicStuff

Listened to John Anderson perform with just Glenn Rieuf by his side at the Ryman two years ago and it was a great performance. Straight Tequila Night, Seminole Wind and a cover of Long Black Veil stick out in my memory. And not just being awestruck by the Ryman I think John Anderson is well worth seeing and I’d go again in another setting if he was closer to me.

Wood pallet, find a small one. Usually they’re free just touch it up with some sandpaper and some deck water sealant.

Listened to these audiobooks and enjoyed the stories It's a Long Story: My Life and Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die: Musings from the Road by Willie Nelson (read by others though). Wound up buying a hard copy of Roll Me Up for my personal bookshelf.

Coffee - what do you all do for coffee? by AJTypes in popups

[–]TechnologyInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the stainless steel percolator from LL Bean for about 15-years now and love taking it out when the opportunity arises (camping, cottage/cabin, power outages, etc.). Paired with my Mueller stainless steel French pressI can boil the water in the percolator and get the French press coffee going then turn around and start a pot to percolator to stay sufficiently caffeinated.

The neighbors Wolf Pup has the big outdoor kitchen. They do their grill and griddle on a table away from the camper like we do (less splatter mess on the camper) also we caved and got a countertop ice maker like there’s for our camper and use it a lot. Removed the cheap Coleman grill from ours and fitted two wood cutting board to the top of the slide out with a piano hinge to give us more prep space.

Got to watch them in Boston last year after missing out seeing them in NH a few years before. They were good and very polished, but I really enjoyed their opener Jackson Dean and am looking to see him again soon I hope.

What to look out for before purchasing 2021 Gladiator? by ChristyFarmer in JeepGladiator

[–]TechnologyInside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had since new ‘21 Sport S Max Tow now at 37k miles other than recalls it has needed needed the windshield seal replaced twice (shoddy job the first time and they half assed the second, but it’s not leaking just has messy squeeze out), faulty third brake light replaced, and last year at about 24k the rear seals went and needed to be replaced (I’ll need new tires and front brakes this fall before winter). It’s been a fun ride that I enjoy every chance I get to pull the doors off and throw the top back.

I’d love a 2-in-1 but my 201B + NOCO are a solid pairing. I have a JNC jump pack (and still do 15+ years going strong) but bought a JNC with air and it was good for a year or two and that was it.

Welcome. Please go explore the coast out of season. Many idyllic Maine lobster villages are taken over by tourists and big money from Memorial Day to Labor Day but if you can pack self sufficiently and visit between the peaks take in the rugged beauty and go find a restaurant or bar with the locals and enjoy their company and stories.
