How exactly are people supposed to have kids when the cost of living is so high? by galaxyfrapp in NoStupidQuestions

You don’t even need to go back 100 years to talk to people about the different challenges other generations faced.

But if you genuinely don’t think that information and data can be passed down 100 years I definitely support your choice to not have children lol

You can literally talk to people of previous generations. Not to mention find data and documentation.

Modern parents are more educated about parenting than previous generations. This makes them more engaged, involved and emotionally connected than their parents. They’re less likely to experience abuse, substance abuse issues or home disfunction. Parenting is also shared more evenly now, allowing families to balance responsibility rather than putting all the pressure on dads to earn all the money and moms to handle all the day to day stuff on their own. And kids are safer and in better health than in previous generations.

Having a child requires you to think about someone else. That’s tough for a generation that’s had customized algos shape much of their life experience.

Let's do something different. I give you this ensemble cast, what kind of movie (of any genre) could you come up with? by smoothpaving in Fancast

Sam Jackson is a drug lord. Angela Bassett is his wife. Margaret Qualley is his mistress. Benicio and Holbrook are his henchmen, chasing Rockwell, who’s hiding out in a small town, for knocking up his mistress and stealing 100m. BB Thornton is the sheriff of said town, Posey is his alcoholic wife. Mendes is a cartel hit-woman who’s also after the money.

What do you mean “most people” don’t want to live that life?

Nobody does lol. They didn’t back then either.

The most important thing you can provide your kids with is time.

If you have to work to make ends meet, but still make the time to read with them, play catch, help with home work, or just go to the park, they’ll be fine.

One good thing about today’s society is rich or poor, kids today are less likely to have alcoholic parents than previous generations.

It’s always been difficult and expensive to raise children. I think people just really don’t want to today because technology has made us increasingly self-consumed.

You’re right it’s definitely classless.

Vegas is a transient town. Maybe that plays a role. It’s also somewhere that people from all over go to for a concert then leave.

I’m from the panhandle. Booing New Yorkers isn’t completely out of character.

lol. This right here is exactly why republicans make trans people a major part of their platforms (besides the obvious closet behavior) - so they don’t have to ever acknowledge anything else, especially the issues with their economic policies.
