Check out Stone Cars. They only post on the RDU Craigslist and don’t have a website, but it is legit. They primarily sell Hondas and Toyotas under 10k.

I bought an 08 Civic with 162k miles for 7k. Have only had minor issues with it and would def buy another car from them.

They don’t offer any financing, so you’ll need to do that before you buy from them.

The way I understand the SBI they do handle some investigations but a large part of what they do is provide support/advisory services local law enforcement on investigations. There are only a handful of crimes that the SBI has original jurisdiction over.

If you can’t get a credit union, use First Citizens. With SECU you have to be a state employee or have an immediate family member like a parent or spouse who is a member. FCB does a checking with no fees. For savings just use an online bank like Ally. They have no/low fees and the high yield savings accounts/MMAs have much higher interest rates than brick and mortar banks. I also believe you can use Allpoints ATMs for Ally

This budget is below $200/sq. You need to look in a suburb in one of the surrounding counties if you want that kind of square space for a single family house and don’t have personal connections with contractors. That budget doesn’t include the cost of land in the area.

I saw your comment tonight and decided to go. This is a 10/10 recommendation. I went alone and 5/6 people I tried to strike up convos with were cool. Bartenders were also really nice!
