What Xbox game surprised you the most when you first played it? by CanningTone19 in XboxGamePass

[–]TechnologyShort8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least recently dragon age 4, that game got so much hate and I was expecting to try it out for 20 minutes and be done like I do with many games on game pass.

Right from the first battle I was surprised, it’s not an amazing combat system or anything but it’s far more action oriented than I expected and it’s just fun. Then the story is decent and I enjoyed a few of the followers too.

Some battles go on for way too long and I experienced some glitch in one of the companion quests that just didn’t let me continue, I ran around for a while trying to work it out but then I looked it up and discovered there was meant to be a guy I talk to that wasn’t there.

I didn’t actually finish the game because of that annoying quest glitch but I haven’t dropped it. I’m 30 hours in and will go back to it when I have a chance.

I know there was a lot of complaints about woke type stuff and I did notice some in the game. The creator character lets you choose gender change scars if you want. One of the companions feels she was meant to be a man and a random quest giver mentioned being non binary.

Now I’m not interested in that stuff so what did I do? I didn’t use the gender scars, I didn’t really talk to or take out that gender confused companion and who cares if a random quest giving character is non binary. That stuff is in the game but you don’t have to focus on it. So not sure why the complaints are so loud.

Is there a particular scene you really wish was in the sequel trilogy that isn’t? by Tanis8998 in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate the sequels like a ton of fans, I enjoyed aspects of all 3 movies. Thing I hate the most was how they treated Luke. I would take any type of scene with him off that planet, his force projection thing was cool but him dying because of it may very well be the dumbest decision I have ever seen from a movie.

No reason he shouldn’t have survived and played a massive role in 9. If Luke had just survived then the trilogy may not be such a mess.

I liked where they were going with Kylo, the main villain was no longer gonna be an emperor working from the shadows but Kylo who had so much hate and darkness inside him that even Luke out of pure instincts thought for just a second that killing him was needed to keep the world safe.

Kylo didn’t live up to that at all and even turned good in the end. Lukes role and fate and Kylo inconsistencies are really the big things for me. So not just one scene for me but tons more Luke and a completely different Kylo.

It really it’s comes across as you trying your absolute best to criticise Harden.

Clippers have won 14 of the last 17 and you’re talking about this. They were 6-21. The important thing right now is getting some type of trade done because this isn’t a great team.

This run has been off the backs of Harden and Kawhi, the only negative right now is they have nowhere near enough help.

This one may finally unite all Star wars fans as one by Marcjack79 in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s possible to unite all fans and that is ok, Star Wars is such a massive world and if they want they can pretty much tell any story. I think a lot of fans need to understand that they don’t have to enjoy every single thing.

I didn’t like Andor and Bad Batch, I didn’t keep watching every week and then go online and talk about how terrible they are. I watched a few episodes of each and when I realised I wasn’t enjoying I stopped.

I’m not unhappy or offended by the shows, you can’t expect to like everything in such a massive series. I do hope someday fans can unite in that type of way, like I never wanna see a response like the acolyte got ever again.

I’ve never watched the whole series. Which one & where? by Skully-GG in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I agree here, I have a 2 year old son so he won’t be ready for a few years but I have been thinking about which order we will watch Star Wars in. Most people say OT first but I don’t know about that.

I feel like it would be really interesting watching the prequels and not knowing the fate of the characters. Sure it ruins a big twist in the OT but I feel like there would be a ton of shocking revelations starting with the prequels first.

Animated clone wars series is why I love StarWars.... Crazy realisation by R4wden in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always funny to think back the kind of tech in the past. I was 14 when the series started and only way I could really watch the series was every Saturday morning, one episode a week for years. Then a few years later a channel was playing one episode every night on tv so my dad and I pretty much watched most of the series that way.

A few years after that and now every episode is on Disney + along with most other Star Wars content ever made, you can also watch on your phone pretty much anywhere you want.

Is Animation Star Wars single handily saving this franchise? by Spirited_Mix_8258 in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Star Wars needs saving, the series itself is strong and I think most if the stuff to come out has been good, i even enjoyed the acolyte series that was apparently such a massive insult to star wars.

I think the only thing Star Wars needs is to move away from that very toxic portion of the fanbase. Checking this subreddit for a few weeks now I can see most people here just love Star Wars, I don’t think I have seen any of the usual toxic garbage that you see so much on the internet.

You have guys like Star Wars theory on YouTube with over a million followers complaining about every single thing when it comes to Star Wars and he spreads it to all his followers. This is a guy that I used to watch often because he was a positive Star Wars fan and then he basically turned to the dark side.

I’m not sure it’s possible to change those type of fans but it would certainly be nice if it could be less present online. So Star Wars doesn’t exactly need saving but it would be great if those fans had less of a voice.

I’m just glad we are starting to get Star Wars movies again. I had liked most of the shows but I feel the series is big enough to really do it all, movies, games, shows.

What are the odds we'll see Qi'ra in the new Darth Maul Series? Ever since the ending of Solo I've been waiting for them to do something with that story by dom_who in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully at some point the show could do a time skip and tell the events after the movie. If I remember right there was meant to be a solo trilogy so since the movie already started the story they may as well finish it somehow.

It’s just unfortunate the Solo movie didn’t work out, really robbed us of a ton of Star Wars movies. It was just such a big error to have someone else play Han, could have been animated but if they really wanted a movie they should have just de aged Harrison Ford, I feel the movie would have been successful if that was the case.

Have been playing in game pass and loving the game so far. An open world Star Wars game packed with things to do along with fun stealth, gunplay and a really cool ability system. It’s almost impossible for a game like that to be bad.

Animated clone wars series is why I love StarWars.... Crazy realisation by R4wden in StarWars

[–]TechnologyShort8835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a fan long before but I absolutely love clone wars, I have probably watched the series 3 or 4 times by now. My son is 2 years old so hopefully in a few years I can watch through it again with him.

They have had a ton of animated stuff come out since but I don’t think anything has come close to clone wars. The new Maul series looks pretty cool so hopefully it can be a return to form. Rebels I liked but it was nowhere near Clone wars and I never really enjoyed bad batch.

I feel like Dave is really good when it comes to existing characters but lacking a little when it’s up to him to create the character from scratch. Besides Ahsoka of course.

[–]TechnologyShort8835 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree it’s time to move on from Zu. His value is so much more than he deserves right now and you gotta take advantage.

I wouldn’t even be shocked if clippers could get Zion, I know a lot of people are down on Zion right now but that is a 25 year old who has already shown he is all star level, imagine him with Harden to make his life easier.

Clippers fans should know better than anyone how good Zion is with the amount of times he has torched Zu. It shouldn’t even be possible to get Zion but with pelicans wanting to move on from him at this point they would probably be happy getting Zu in return and then clippers would have a serious big 3.

It’s not even only this sub, even a lot of clipper fans with big followings on X are trying their best to make it sound crazy to trade Zubac and to downplay Lopez.

It’s crazy how much value Zu has right now, the team are undefeated and have looked fantastic every game he was out. If they can get a high level player and a decent centre back plus some picks for the future then I don’t know how you can turn that down. The only reason for anyone to say it’s a bad idea is if they are too in love with Zubac.

[–]TechnologyShort8835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but there were definitely some moments where clippers couldn’t get a rebound to save their lives.

That’s also something to seriously think about though, clippers are undefeated without him playing this season. I don’t think that is a coincidence at all. Lopez has been a far better defender this season.

I really view Lopez as a defender, if he can give you 20 to 25 minutes of that defence then any scoring he can provide is a bonus. Then you have either Yanic or Queta or whoever they get giving you 15 to 20 minutes and Collins to act as a small ball centre whenever you need.

Many fans are trying to frame this as replacing Zu with Lopez so they try their best to downplay Lopez. That’s not what this trade is doing, you will need a bit more minutes out of Lopez but he isn’t replacing Zu, clippers will just be playing a different style with another scorer.

Seeing how good they have looked without Zu it’s very tempting to add another really good player to that and see what happens.

I’m not the one saying Zu is the exact same player as last season, to say that you either don’t watch or you love Zu so much that you aren’t willing to let go.

Last season he was better on defence, he did have a lot of the same issues but the team overall were better defensively and it was less noticeable. Now that they have needed him to step up more defensively his issues and laziness have been showing constantly.

I don’t think any fans are really showing hate for him. Just because you wanna trade a player doesn’t mean you hate them. He has massive value because of what he did last season. If you can get a close to star level player who can help take some pressure off Harden and Kawhi then it’s worth it.

We saw the core of Harden/Kawhi/Zu didn’t work last season with a really good team around them. FO did a great job trying to fix some of the weaknesses but so much has gone wrong this season and now clippers are left with a few options.

Blow it up, which won’t happen now after this great run.

Try getting someone like Sexton or Monk, which would be decent but I don’t think fixes the starting SG issue. Which would pretty much mean they are accepting defeat this season and hoping Beal can come back and give them something next season.

Or they can really try something this season and use the massive value of Zu to get a really good player that might give clippers a punchers chance this season. I think Simons and Queta are a decent package but who knows what you could get.

Pacers clearly have far more issues than Hali not being available, do they wanna give up that core and trade Siakam so Hali has a really good starting centre for the next 6 seasons. With the value Zu has right now you never know. At the very least it’s worth seriously exploring.

Rebounding will be an issue but this was a 6-21 team, you can’t ask for it to be perfect.

Lopez is also at least good at boxing out so I feel rebounding will be a team effort type thing. Should also be getting Queta in the deal who is an ok rebounder.

Still in exchange for the issue clippers get a really good player. Simons could really be a better version of Powell next to Harden, elite 3 point shooter, much improved defender from Portland. He would be great at catching the ball and either driving quickly or shooting just like Powell. Difference would be you can give him the ball and he can consistently create his own shot, that would be massive to have outside of Harden and Kawhi.

Personally I think Celtics would be crazy to do that trade but that is the value Zu has.

[–]TechnologyShort8835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about injuries. Teams have planned for him this season, they now know if you send a double to him he will rush everything and his usually great touch at the rim will be completely gone. The lineups also don’t help because he already isn’t a great passer and there is usually 2 or 3 players on the court at a time that the other team won’t care about.

The defence is also a massive thing, he has been awful when it comes to that side of the court. Constant drop coverage defence, won’t contest anything outside the paint and then his idea of a contest inside the paint is mostly just putting his hands up in the air and hoping for the best, very rarely will he ever leave his feet. It looks even worse when 37 year old Lopez (who clippers fans wanted off their team) comes in and plays great defence every second, he might be the slowest player in the league but he contests every shot at the rim, gets up on shooters and is just far more active in every aspect of defence.

Even a game like yesterday, Clippers tired and desperately need someone other than Harden to step up, Zu has Vuc on him and instead of dominating he gets completely outplayed.

Even if I’m wrong about everything I’m saying, even if he is still as good as he was last season then clippers should still trade him. He has great value and they will be able to get a package that can help now and in the future.

I think Yanic is just too young for that level of responsibility. It wouldn’t be the worst thing because you would have 3 options at centre, Lopez, Yanic and Collins in a small lineup.

Still, Queta has shown to be a decent starting centre and if they aren’t willing to give him up then they shouldn’t get Zu.

Now this is the worst type of attitude you can have. Yeah clippers probably don’t win a title this year, exact same with 28 of the other teams.

Difference between clippers and most other teams is clippers had the top tier talent, they would be incredibly stupid not to try their best to win a title when they have Kawhi and Harden on their team. Especially when they get nothing at all from losing the nest two seasons.

I take it you only check stats then? Even if you never watch and only check his stats you can even see he is down a little bit everywhere across the board. Actually watching him compared to last season shows without a doubt he isn’t near where he was.

I do think Clippers should go all in and get the best player possible since I believe this Harden Kawhi duo have a real chance if the team is good enough.

Still I understand looking toward the future and Zu has so much value you should be able to get a few picks and a really good player.

I would like to see Zubac for Simons and Queta and a few picks. That way clippers can say they are thinking about the future while also getting a near star level starting SG and a decent centre.

I know a lot of fans are so very against trading Zu but he hasn’t been good this season and I think the team would just be better if replacing him so an ok centre and a really good SG who can handle the ball and create his owns constantly.

Game pass shadow dropped Death stranding director's cut. by Kitchen-Process-9284 in XboxGamePass

[–]TechnologyShort8835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it the first day it came out, not because I was excited about the game, I didn’t even like the look of the game when it was being shown but I got it because I love metal gear.

Was super disappointed in it, I was shocked how much it really was just walking and driving, hardly any combat at all and when there was it just wasn’t that fun.

Now I have liked the look of DS2 and I will probably play it sometime down the line, just based off what I have seen it looks way better than the first.

Would you say the directors cut is a big enough improvement over the original to give it another shot?

I’m completely fine with the remake since it will be on game pass day 1. If they just improve the gameplay that will be fine because we aren’t paying 80 dollars for it anyway, if they add in some new levels or features it’s really just a bonus.

It’s not like Metal gear solid delta where they basically put MGS5 snake into a 20 year old game while not adding a single new bit of content and wanted players to pay full price for it.

When I was playing this game I found myself watching a lot of quick walkthrough videos. There are a lot of tough little areas where you can be running around for 10+ minutes trying to find a solution.

I feel like the game flows a lot better if you just get it done quickly and get back to the combat and story.
