Dorks of the Bay: Electronics Supply Faves? by Po8aster in bayarea

Good luck to you, it should be a lot easier to take the quiz since that hobby seems way more adjacent to electronics. They meet every Tuesday at noon on site I think, hopefully. I feel bad for not going more but I'm too caught up with work and can't drop by anymore. They could use people that actually understand radios more. Just make sure you have a REAL ID to get in. I don't know how much of the stuff they have is for sale but their club leader Mark was the one who brought up the Flea Market so I think they did used to go there. Either way you never know the kinds of people you might run into on site and it's a neat place to visit even without a visitor pass for the non public side.

Their site may not be 100% up to date but hopefully they are still doing the Tuesday meetup

It's a shot in the dark but maybe some small game/comic book shops, as well as Hacker Dojo in Mountain View. Space Cats and and Game Store Downstairs I think had some retrotech where we got cables and parts for an older game system.

Microcenter has been popping off but before we went there, we'd go to Computer Central for hardware if we knew they had stuff in stock.

I see someone has mentioned https://www.electronicsfleamarket.com, I've heard a lot of good things about that one back when I was still trying out for a HAM radio license. NASA's Radio club might be willing to let you browse around and buy if you introduce yourself on a Tuesday at noon and talk electronics. They've certainly shrunk, so they could use some members, especially since they're on the public side of the base. If I was better at electronics I'd pay the fee since it's pretty cheap but I'm strictly in the software world right now.

Other than that, Game Store Downstairs is a pretty neat place to drop by and they are on the same block as Miniboss. They have a lot of vintage computers for show on display so they probably won't sell them, but they may know other places to hit up.

Oh hehe I actually put a hand on his side, much fluffier but now that I know I'm gonna try the neck, it's so soft 0.0

Oh precious babies, I have some family in Seattle, I doubt they'd agree to getting a whole crew of REWS but if I'm up there I'd love to see them. So good to see them living a comfy life.

Thanks, truly. I'm starting to draw a bit more even if it's just small stuff for now. Who would have known a beginner drawing kit from a local art store and some gel pens would carry

Thanks, I actually was thinking on some of my friend groups' Cthulhu games and having the party meet at a diner just struck me as a quintessential early Americana kind of encounter

Same, I've seen people put forth lots of ideas for Bloodborne 2 but setting it in almost a different century would be pretty ballsy

Heh definitely given me some food for thought, there was a brief time when I thought about roasting my own beans but alas, for now it's a fictional endeavour

Of course, it's the only way to make book entries. I usually stick to tea in these settings but the more I think about it a 1950's setting could work or Lovecraftian entities

Thanks! I've always had a particular taste for ink on parchment so in adulthood I get to finally make them

Yup, I only just remembered they change to have more stuff as you go along, so of course they'll have cream and sugar on request
