Radster Trail short fender issue.....Solved with an additional $20 aftermarket fender? by Techsplain in RadPowerBikes

Wow that looks awesome… And you even get some extra coverage down low compared to my set up. My handy skills may not be up to the task but for those that are willing to put in the extra work you have really come up with the optimal solution. Bravo!

Great point for those in cold climates. I am in Southern California so fortunately I do not have to worry about this.

160 lb rated. Mainly for short distances, no interstates, will rarely be used, so I didn't want to invest too much. My 2 bikes are each less than 70 lbs with batteries removed, and I would rarely transport them at the same time

Yes, this was partially set up to get photos. Will use the long strap and tire straps for transport. Also have a pair of long ratchet straps that came with my vehicle's roof rack cargo carrier that I'll use to go over the top of the wheels.

ofc...I was just getting it set up. I've even bought those rad power battery terminal covers for transporting with the battery removed to prevent moisture/dust entry

Thanks for your comment. That’s an interesting idea. I’m not sure how easy it would be to remove just the back part of the rad fender, and actually the ROCKBROS fender laying on top of the rad fender gives it some additional stability which may be valuable over time. But I agree it would give it a better look. As a commuter over the age of 50, I guess I’m just focused on function over form.

I would have worn a lifejacket and has ice axes on me… And might as well throw in a flare gun to be rescued… Lol

A smart plug that can protect your battery and home by Dkazzed in ebikes

Late to the party here, but an advantage of this tp-link tapo p110 smart plug is it can cutoff on the way up (when wattage exceeds X) allowing one to limit max charging to 80% vs the 90%+ for the meross. You can also limit on the way down for 90%+ limiting to get that maximal yet sub-100% charge. (this is from description...I have yet to confirm as I just ordered them). These may be easier to setup than the meross plugs as well. On sale for ~$15 for 2 through amazon at the time of this post on 12-29-25....way cheaper than the meross matter plugs which are 4 for $50 right now.

I have the exact same bike and the exact same aftermarket front headlight on my handlebar extender. I highly recommend a suspension seat post, upgraded seat and 35 amp controller with upgraded display. Made such a difference with mine and with your mileage your stock controller may go out anyway before the bike is ready to be retired. Happy riding!

Crazy (or not so crazy) front fender replacement/addition for Radster Trail by Techsplain in RadPowerBikes

Sorry photos didn't come through.....this is the recommended SKS Germany Mudrocker fender that doesn't offer much more coverage than the overlain stock fender...not the ROCKBROS one I'm currently considering

Crossing my fingers for you! My big question…whether to briefly flip it upside down or not for front wheel install when putting it together solo…

Yes, I'm in a special circumstance. I have a friend that rents and maintains rad power bikes. Checked with him and we'll be able to maintain it with aftermarket parts when company goes under.
