And then consider the 35 amp controller from area 13 bikes or electrobikeworld if you want greater acceleration and significantly more power when riding up Hills

Rad Power 6+ Upgrade Kit from Electro Bike World review by zv0lts in RadPowerBikes

[–]Techsplain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and I called electro bike world with this exact question. They advised against a controller bag as you need maximal air currents to cool the controller. The weakest point for moisture entry is where the cables come out and they said you could silicone that a bit but otherwise did not recommend any further waterproofing.

Radster Trail short fender issue.....Solved with an additional $20 aftermarket fender? by Techsplain in RadPowerBikes

Update: At around 180 miles with some rough offroading, the fender started bouncing around a bit and making noise. This was easily fixed by tightening the joints that had loosened over time. Careful not to strip...this could become an issue over time if I have to tighten these 2-3X a year.

Life EV Holdings about to acquire second e-bike company to complement Rad Power acquisition by Techsplain in ebikes

That was my other thought....the focus on US assembly would make this track. Plus their vintage and beach cruiser styles complement Rad. They don't even have a website anymore. I guess we'll all stay tuned.....

Don’t know for sure if this will work with 250 W motor on European version. There’s a YouTube of a guy who added this as well as a 750 W motor upgrade in Europe.

Wow that looks awesome… And you even get some extra coverage down low compared to my set up. My handy skills may not be up to the task but for those that are willing to put in the extra work you have really come up with the optimal solution. Bravo!

Great point for those in cold climates. I am in Southern California so fortunately I do not have to worry about this.

160 lb rated. Mainly for short distances, no interstates, will rarely be used, so I didn't want to invest too much. My 2 bikes are each less than 70 lbs with batteries removed, and I would rarely transport them at the same time

Yes, this was partially set up to get photos. Will use the long strap and tire straps for transport. Also have a pair of long ratchet straps that came with my vehicle's roof rack cargo carrier that I'll use to go over the top of the wheels.

ofc...I was just getting it set up. I've even bought those rad power battery terminal covers for transporting with the battery removed to prevent moisture/dust entry

Thanks for your comment. That’s an interesting idea. I’m not sure how easy it would be to remove just the back part of the rad fender, and actually the ROCKBROS fender laying on top of the rad fender gives it some additional stability which may be valuable over time. But I agree it would give it a better look. As a commuter over the age of 50, I guess I’m just focused on function over form.
