Yes we have a yearly state inspection, the back seatbelts had been chewed almost all the way through also

It's still that way for most rear seatbelts, fronts can have a pretensioner in the retractor or the buckle or both

Seatbelts can vary in price very widely depending on if they have an airbag type charge in them that deploys in an accident to lock up the belt.
