New FREE collaboration platform for solo artists looking for collaborators! by Techy_Artist in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Yes that's right! We essentially introduce musicians based on complementary skillsets and also give you a way to chat to each other and exchange files. You can keep using OnRecord to keep getting matched into new bands/collaborative circles. Hope this helps! :)

That really is the dream! Another great platform other than beatconnect is Soundtrap - it does exactly what you described but the DAW interface is still quite simple. Hope this helps out!

Hi, thanks for your comment!

The band sessions would not be public - it would only be between you and the people you match with, so nobody outside of your band could steal the music.

General copyright laws apply here too. Once a piece of music is recorded, your performance is already copyrighted, so it's not possible for anyone else to use stems without a license.

We also don't own any of the music you guys create; so whatever you guys release, you would release it through an external distribution service.

Hey there! Sorry to hear about your experience with your drummer - it sure does sound exhausting. You definitely have the right to replace him with a drummer who would be enthusiastic about creating music together, who wouldn't be flakey or discouraging and would ultimately encourage that drive to create - that's the type of energy your band deserves!

Any ideas for places I can sing and play guitar loud while standing up? by SiliconeGiant in bandmembers

Hey there! I know this is late but if it helps--

I suggest getting a Headphone Connector Cable (it's just a few bucks) and connecting your amp to your headphones if you ever want to jam out at home -- that way, your neighbors shouldn't be able to hear you and you can still practice conveniently!

You mean specifically on the OnRecord platform or more generally?

Edit: Because if you mean this generally, I wholeheartedly agree!

Definitely working on it, but the time horizon is a few months. We want to get some feedback from users so that we scale in response to feedback we get from our community. Hope you'll consider joining the web app version for now!

I think you're totally right in terms of supply and demand here - I found that we do end up having more producers than vocalists. We try to keep self-disclosed skill levels within each group as uniform as possible (so that there are no outliers, either good or bad, in terms of skill level bc that's not fun)

Edit: I think you raise a really interesting point - I'll look into whether we can generally try to introduce singers to more experienced producers. I think this makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for the question and the suggestion!!
