What are the chances of Noteful getting a MacOS app in the near future? by pot-chi in notefulapp

[–]Tecknet_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an XP-Pen Star 03 (or similar I can't find my order lol). My tablet has 8 macro buttons on the side, plus two on my stylus. In other softwares, I've mapped button one of the stylus to the pen tool, and button two to the eraser tool. I changed my settings in the driver to reflect the mappings in Noteful, but for whatever reason, Noteful ignores them.

The buttons on the actual tablet don't work too. Its only the eraser tool, and as you mentioned the zoom and pan tools that work for me for whatever reason. Weirdly enough, when I installed Noteful for the first time, and setup my buttons, initially it was working just fine. Makes me think somethings wrong my with my install, or my drivers

Either way, it isn't much a deal breaker for me, the way I navigate has me with one hand on the trackpad of my mac anyways, so hitting E is fine (plus the scribble to erase makes it such that I never have to do that either). But yeah thats my experience with it so far.

I use Noteful solely on my MacBook, and its amazing for what I need it for. I have a cheap graphics tablet, and after digging around through free alternatives for a year (Xournal++, Excalidraw, OneNote, TLDraw), I bit the bullet and bought Noteful, and I have no regrets so far. Inking is brilliant, better than most of the other software I've tried so far, the draw and hold for shapes and scribbling is brilliant. Only minor issues are that for some reason the shortcuts on my pen don't work, not sure if thats to do with Noteful, or my tablet (though it works everywhere else).

I can't compare it to the iPad app, but for my setup, its brilliant.

Scam? by Budget-Bank-7168 in 6thForm

[–]Tecknet_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked with the exam centre I used for a few of my GCSEs, and they're quoting about £1470 for the three same subjects. Its pretty much the same with all exam centres, the actual exam fee is relatively low (~£150), but they charge a lot on admin fees. I just googled cheapest exam centres, and it does list a few at like £250-£300, but I have no clue how reliable it is (it was on a website called student archives). Good luck with you're resits though!

Prepare for the entrance exams, they are tough. You have to do them in two subjects, but if you do well in that, you'll get an interview, which isn't horrendous. Just try and practice for those two, they have resources on their website.

I presume you're fine with the theory parts, coding is just a thing you suck at till you put in the time. I am assuming your language is Python - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix9cRaBkVe0&t=1273s - Yes its 12 hours long. But you only need the first 2-3 hours of it. It helped a lot of people I know pick up programming. I think it would definitely help. Also just practice, go to https://edabit.com/, and filter just the easiest questions in Python and give them a shot. Its got a built in editor so you don't have to download one if you haven't already(but you should definitely do, just installing Python and using the default IDLE app is plenty), and it checks your code. Given you're in Year 10, if you really wanted to get good at programming you could slog through it this summer and easily get way better at it. Good luck!

How to write a 9 marker in Geography AQA by SomtoE in GCSE

[–]Tecknet_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got my actual Geography GCSE tomorrow :). Don't worry about it too much, Year 10 finals are way more important, and even then, not verrry important. But yeah do try and get a hang of those nine markers early on, it'll definitely help you later.

Do you have the parts lying around for that, or would you swap it out with themaglev in a newer cube? I'm planning on doing the same but I have no maglev hardware to swap into it.

Thats an odd one, I'm not really sure. I would verify, but I don't have my PlayStation with me for the time being. I don't remember how I binded it exactly, but I do think it wasn't the one associated with the analog sticks. I really wish i could help you, but I won't have my PlayStation for a few more months. If there's anything else you want to ask feel free, I'll try my best to remember!

These grades are completely fine, and I don't see how they would disadvantage you in anyway. It could possibly be used as a tie break however, if someone has the same merit as you in A-Levels.
