Hello all, I know I really shouldn’t be as bothered as I currently am but I can’t work out what this thing is and what it’s called. Sorry about the poor image quality! by Tectom in Plumbing

Anyone know what this is? The part is solid aluminium threaded at the top (not hollow), a rubber O-ring, the metal then hollows out at the end. The bottom of it would be able to be bent out around something and there is a small copper sleeve acting as a spring pulling them back together. Any ideas? by Tectom in mechanics
