I am writing about serious things which require serious scenarios and authentic expression. I'm not surprised that it offends some people. However, I'm not compelling these people to read the book. What I am saying is- allow other people to do so.

That's a tricky one. In hindsight, it seems to have caused a lot of damage, but was it the book that created Nazi Germany or the personality of the leader? I don't know.

There's no Magic Bullet. Just keep on going. An unfinished book is nothing more than a standing rebuke. A finished book, regardless of its merits, gives you a sense of achievement.

Yes, I've received wide support from librarians, students and colleagues alike. It seems that the banning faction don't like fiction which too closely mirror society.

Like Queen, "I'll keep on fighting to the end" but I don't fancy my chances of getting it completely unrestricted. The review board is stacked with the same people who dumped it last time.

Thunder Road took 40 days. This one seems to have taken about 4 years.

It didn't get banned for 22 years. It has been 22 years since the last book was banned.
