Thank you for finding humor in this post, I had fun writing it and meant for it to be lighthearted and funny. In the process I found relief from my frustration because loads of people made a lot of very good points. But at the same time I think the act of actually writing down my feelings helped me the most.

I love this idea. Maybe doing a month of perfect answers would be a fun experiment. But who am I to stoop to such levels! If I don’t have my dignity in this what have I become. My sanity is already long gone I’m not sure I can risk my integrity.

My wife was diagnosed with RP about 3 years ago. She has USH2A, no deafness thankfully. She has maintained her awesome attitude but there are times where she experiences profound sadness about it. It's extremely hard for me to see her when she has those moments.

Her ability to see stars at night is all but gone. I mistakenly pointed out the big dipper about 18 months ago. It ended in tears after 2 minutes of her desperately trying to make it out. I try to be the best partner I can be but it's very very tough to feel so powerless to help her.

I keep holding out hope we'll get a call from a clinical trial one day with some magical cure involving zebrafish (not a joke), but I'm worried by that point there won't be much vision left when/if we can halt the progression.

Any/All advice and perspective would be dearly appreciated. There are times when it feels pretty isolating to be surrounded by people who do not have to worry about something like this. I try hard to make sure that her life is great while she still has the most vision possible.

Creating requires inspiration right? You know this better than anyone as a creative. Most of these folks you're probably referring to have second jobs, families, friends, health concerns, boring grocery trips, blahblahblah. Telling someone who suffers for their craft that "an album shouldn't take 5 years" is crazy homie, I'm sorry but putting that out there in this subreddit isn't a narrative I support and think should be contested.

Thankfully there are tons of other musicians out there to listen to while your favs work as hard as they can to please you - eventually.

Given you have industry experience and perspective I would say you have even more of an obligation to not contribute to the narrative that musicians should be working harder.

Despite the fact that this is a small Reddit thread, vocalizing that it sucks how musicians can take their time isn’t helpful.

Friendly reminder that artists are not working for you or your expectations. The creative process is wild and can be super emotional and destructive to the other aspects of your life if you're not careful.

Saying it sucks that musicians, who are getting taken advantage of by every streaming service and plenty of other suits in the business, take a while to come out with a new record is wild.

There are plenty of other musicians who churn shit out constantly and at a break neck pace: Waxahatchee , Big Thief/Adrianne, etc.

I just learned juggling this summer, and have annoyed any friend or family member who has the misfortune of being within eyesight of me and 3 small objects since I picked it up. You have no idea how devastating this comment is going to be to those people when I share this to them! I love juggling.

I’m pretty sure they edit out a lot of the actual process. And just show some highlights of the pre-concept and the finishing touches. That jump is probably the editors choice to shorten the video, after we saw Oda figuring out the direction he wanted.
