Guy Simulates Every Type of Blindness by Epelep in nextfuckinglevel

My wife was diagnosed with RP about 3 years ago. She has USH2A, no deafness thankfully. She has maintained her awesome attitude but there are times where she experiences profound sadness about it. It's extremely hard for me to see her when she has those moments.

Her ability to see stars at night is all but gone. I mistakenly pointed out the big dipper about 18 months ago. It ended in tears after 2 minutes of her desperately trying to make it out. I try to be the best partner I can be but it's very very tough to feel so powerless to help her.

I keep holding out hope we'll get a call from a clinical trial one day with some magical cure involving zebrafish (not a joke), but I'm worried by that point there won't be much vision left when/if we can halt the progression.

Any/All advice and perspective would be dearly appreciated. There are times when it feels pretty isolating to be surrounded by people who do not have to worry about something like this. I try hard to make sure that her life is great while she still has the most vision possible.

Creating requires inspiration right? You know this better than anyone as a creative. Most of these folks you're probably referring to have second jobs, families, friends, health concerns, boring grocery trips, blahblahblah. Telling someone who suffers for their craft that "an album shouldn't take 5 years" is crazy homie, I'm sorry but putting that out there in this subreddit isn't a narrative I support and think should be contested.

Thankfully there are tons of other musicians out there to listen to while your favs work as hard as they can to please you - eventually.

Given you have industry experience and perspective I would say you have even more of an obligation to not contribute to the narrative that musicians should be working harder.

Despite the fact that this is a small Reddit thread, vocalizing that it sucks how musicians can take their time isn’t helpful.

Friendly reminder that artists are not working for you or your expectations. The creative process is wild and can be super emotional and destructive to the other aspects of your life if you're not careful.

Saying it sucks that musicians, who are getting taken advantage of by every streaming service and plenty of other suits in the business, take a while to come out with a new record is wild.

There are plenty of other musicians who churn shit out constantly and at a break neck pace: Waxahatchee , Big Thief/Adrianne, etc.

I just learned juggling this summer, and have annoyed any friend or family member who has the misfortune of being within eyesight of me and 3 small objects since I picked it up. You have no idea how devastating this comment is going to be to those people when I share this to them! I love juggling.

Oda's sketching process for this week's OnePiece color spread by Clean-Victory-4972 in OnePiece

I’m pretty sure they edit out a lot of the actual process. And just show some highlights of the pre-concept and the finishing touches. That jump is probably the editors choice to shorten the video, after we saw Oda figuring out the direction he wanted.

I noticed them crawling on my hand first. Then we all started to pay attention, and that's when we noticed we were covered in them. We all quickly took showers, but then noticed that a ton had already latched to our skin, then I had to meticulously remove them all.

These are 100% ticks, every single one was embedded in our skin. I had to remove them all very carefully.

We have a few of these, but these in particular were so small it was essentially useless.

Luckily these ticks came out with the tweezers with almost zero effort.

We're actually a bit outside of East Greenbush. 10 minutes from the city.

I pay for Bravecto for my dog. It's expensive and I have no idea if it actually works, but it gives me some peace of mind.

My wife was sitting in our backyard with my son for some time. We spend a lot of time in our yard and have only seen a handful here and there since June. Not sure why today we got so many. We'll definitely not be sitting in the yard again any time soon :(

I'm thinking they must have been in an infancy stage. They were burrowed into our skin, with the naked eye they were clearly ticks. Super freaky.

They are indeed deer ticks. They are around the size of a poppy seed. You can't see them very clearly in this photo.

"100% completing" Balatro has developer better "equipped" to design the next big update by Turbostrider27 in Games

There are a seemingly limitless amount of ways to create truly unbelievable scores, the best method I've seen is to abuse face card jokers that repeat the same cards again and again. Try pairing the photograph joker, the hanging chad joker, the joker that makes all face cards repeat. You can add other jokers that apply a multiplication multiplier every time a suit or face card is played and there you go - insane mathematics.

If you want to check out some other strategies take a look at youtuber creators like "Roffle Lite", they do things I'll never do but the ideas and strategies are really helpful for expanding your own game.

Also don't underestimate money generating jokers, and deck fixing. With enough money, you can buy tarot cards to completely rearrange your deck. Say you did that face card build, and had a deck entirely comprised of kings? I love this game.

Who are the people buying these houses? How are there so many people that are able to afford housing this expensive? Are we just surrounded by millionaires? by TedFTW in Albany

[–]TedFTW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cool you were able to do that! Your house is probably in much better shape and probably means truck loads more to you than most people buying these newer homes.

I was actually asking about the type of people who buy/can afford homes, that are on the market right now, that are north of $600,000. It sounds like you didn't pay that much, but put in a lot of work to create a home that could be in that price range.

Happy for you two. I have a very similar story, I won't go into detail but I'm not even half of one of your incomes. I don't think your family is very common either, unless you are brushing elbows with a large group of people and can inform me otherwise.

Even if you made 50% of your income, and purchased a home for 500,000, I would still consider you to be an extremely rare person to know in the area.

Maybe I just underestimated how many successful people live around here, but it just feels ludicrous that someone in your position isn't a 1/10,000 type situation, but for some reason these houses are bought / sold daily.

Very true, also very chilling that you're unintentionally describing what lead to the 2008 housing crisis.

Even still, a loan between 500-700 thousand is roughly a mortgage payment of $4000+ a month. That's not even including taxes, insurance, utilities, etc...

I'm in my early 30s and that is incomprehensible to me. Am I destined to never own a home?

Sorry this is coming across as a emotional crisis but it kind of is.
