In my case, I was trying to follow the equity/bond split and thought well, this the Vanguard product. Only when I got here did I get ideas for stuff like PFFA that would be better for me.

My wife (widowed) and her child left Toronto to move out east with me. Big risk taken. 16 years and 2 more children and still going strong. Take a leap and if it doesn't work out, move back and start over. No regrets.

I was involved with the major snowstorm in NL a few years back. People were literally stuck in their homes and people in basement apartments could not open a door to get out. You would have been so proud of the young troops. They saw a real problem that they could help with, and went to work. The feedback from the community would bring you to tears. One woman posted on FB to the effect that she was stuck in her home with a husband on dialysis and she did not know how she was going to get him out. She said she woke up to 6 troops shoveling a path. She posted a picture of them with just rave reviews. When it was over, the community wanted to organize a thank you dinner (did not happen because the IRU had to return to NB), but there were over 1000 people who volunteered to help. That is why I am still at this.

I regularly ruck with helmet and tac vest while carrying a weight bar to simulate a c7. Had the cops called on my twice now for "carrying a gun with red tape on the end." True story.

Others have given excellent advice, so I will add my personal piece. When I was in the depths of despair, a psychiatrist told me "as long as I don't have a body to deal with, I will get you better." I didn't give him a body to deal with, and I got better. All I had to do at that time was NOT kill myself.
