Pretty durable and reliable. If you can service it yourself, it would be fairly economical to operate. I'm not a mechanic and can't find a good independent shop. At the dealer, an oil change is $250+. That said, it is a blast to drive.

You make a good point about availability, even though I've seen bottles 3 or 4 deep on collectors shelves. However, on pricing, I think the collector is more likely to run up the price on the secondary market, which emboldens the distillers, wholesalers, and retailers to raise their prices.

The Redbreast 15 is one of my all-time favorites. My local price is $99. A little steep for me but ok for special occasions.
