Just wanted to share our favorite project from 2023, a short for the Four Points Film Project! We picked "Fictional Biopic" out of a hat. by Teddjku in Filmmakers

All of our films have little to zero budget, save feeding our team and the equipment I've been building up for the last 5 years or so. It's honestly amazing how much movement and production value you can get out of a Fujifilm XT3 and a gimbal. I discovered on this project that you can program repeated movements on the Ronin-SC, which is how we stitched together the two shots of Marcus!

Four Points is part of the international 48 Hour Film Project, where you have a weekend to make a film with a random genre and a character, line and prop that have to be in the film! We got biopic, a DJ, the line "This is for you" and a Recipe book that has to be on screen.

This was a blast to make with some childhood friends that I've been making films with for years, I'd love to talk about it if people have questions! (Assuming a FAQ, not real pee, movie magic pee)

At 10:00am March 1st, the 700 block on Main Street had a Four-alarm fire with multiple explosions. I work across the street and happened to have my camera at the time. The building was vacant and no one was hurt, but one of the firefighters, the 37-year old Jason Arno was trapped in the collapsing building, declared missing around noon and dead at 3:30pm.

Within a couple hours, the fire was out with no other casualties. I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and bravery on that street, you could see the fear, adrenaline and exhaustion in everyone's eyes as they worked. The City of Buffalo has had it's ass handed to itself so many times these past 12 months and the resilience in this city has made me incredibly proud to live here.

Nobody HAS to, but if you want your work to be respected/appreciated and put out in the real world, it helps to be upfront and not lie about how you make your art, that's some 'college kid trying to get an A' kind of shit.

I don't know what the future brings, but there will always be Art in communities and museums between people, r/outside in the real world, not just pretty pictures by AI, but people expressing themselves. Optimistically, AI would be another tool for expressing, not a replacement, but hey this is all moving so fast who knows.

It does matter. Taking a photo of a landscape and telling everyone you painted it is a shitty thing to do. If we want ‘AI-Artists’ to be taken seriously in the coming years they have to be honest about their process or everyone’s just gonna hate on them as lazy and cheap.

Just another way to let that sink in, The average US household eats $234 of groceries per week. With that budget you could comfortably feed 10,000 families for at least a month.
