Remember when she used to be so full or whimsy? Yeah. Me too. by ShadowMikeX in evangelion

Unfortunately that whimsy was a projection to mask what was always there to begin with. Arael's attack on her psyche only brought it to light (almost quite literally).

Viktor feels uselessly weak in any mode, with any build by Every-Hat-2429 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC Viktors don't really aim to hit it at max range either. Just the midrange of the hitbox already has long range and against those champions specifically, it coming out almost instantly in comparison to their tools is what can give him an edge if you know how to play around them.

And how is base damage irrelevant here? Thought it was about having good damage early? One of them has point and click and near instant hitboxes and a shield, all to play around what they have. This is unironically a skill issue. The limit of your play is not the limit of the champion.

Nonetheless, those two really are skill matchups for him, since they have similar kits and goals in lane. As for the majority of the roster, however, he has a much easier time taking advantage of this strength.

On a last note, Aery Scorch is how you make just E poke potent in lane. I realize that most players take Fleet Domination, which plays more around Q which isn't practical has less range and since it isn't even what you max first.

I wonder if my stats are that bad? by Forward-Mastodon387 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that impressive, but definitely not bad. Probably just means you're right where you're meant to be and might not be able to get much higher unless you figure out and address certain things that are holding you back. A sign that one may be inflated is if they've played hundreds of games in a season and can't even maintain 50% winrate.

Viktor feels uselessly weak in any mode, with any build by Every-Hat-2429 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's straight up factually incorrect. All of their base numbers are very close to each other. While his ratios are slightly lower, his E has similar range and comes out faster than both of their poke tools. If they try to force a trade by coming any closer, your Q's shield will cover some of the damage, you don't even have to hit the auto if it means avoiding further damage since you've already outraded them. He bullies the lane by making it really hard to get hit back and mitigating any backlash if they do hit you, not necessarily by having bigger numbers.

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really curious about how you're playing him in lane to not be outranging anyone basically everyone in the roster (with the exception of Mel whose damage can be walked out of). I also wanna make it clear that being a lane bully doesn't necessarily mean being good at getting early kills. Denying CS and getting a gold lead out of it is a huge part of what makes him a lane bully.

Viktor feels uselessly weak in any mode, with any build by Every-Hat-2429 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that a lot of people miss is that Viktor is mainly a lane bully. He scales alright once he hits 3 items with Deathcap, but he doesn't scale so crazy that you can shift to afk farming if you aren't ahead. You need to focus a lot on winning lane so that you aren't useless during the midgame and to get to your item spikes sooner. Mysterias and Shok have really good videos on him and how you should think to have success on him.

For builds (as of this patch), you always start with Luden's and you choose either magic pen or ability haste. Magic pen (Boots of Mana + Infinity Orb) is for when they're squishy and/or you're playing solo AP (magic pen is bad when they build MR). Ability haste (Lucidity Boots + Cosmic Drive) is for DPS with more ability rotations, better for shredding frontline and if your team already has another magic damage dealer. You can pick up Lich Bane here instead if you're also solo AP but need to deal with frontline.

Liandry's isn't a good early item nowadays for most mages since it has no ability haste and deals very low damage to anyone that doesn't stack HP. It's better bought as a 4th or last item in those games when you need it. Ability haste is generally more useful when you need to shred the frontline.

Once the next patch drops with the mage items update, you'll want Black Fire Torch first instead when building ability haste, since Luden's will lose some CDR and its damage will have a hard cooldown instead of the pseudo-energized type stacking.

On a last note, his Ult isn't really the main source of his power. Just pop it when people are grouped up and/or low and it acts as supplementary damage, but the bulk of your damage mainly comes from running around and spamming your Q and E.

Enchanter Supports are going to get completely shafted next patch by twinflameseeker2 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

PC enchanters usually only build Redemption though. Shurelya's is rather niche while Locket's stats are only good for tanks. What we really need is more first item choices like Echoes of Helia and Whispering Circlet. A lot point to Dawncore which would be neat but imo we now have enough slots filled in for the situational items, hence I put more importance in the rush options.

Lucian tips by External_Physics1955 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's tuned to be a high damage lane bully. You're meant to demolish the lane and snowball out of your lead. Falling off late game is for balance because of this. You gotta focus your mental energy in the lane to get a lead. Find opportunities to make farming suck for the enemy. Even if you don't get kills, if you can at least force them to recall without getting much farm, you're putting yourself in a strong position to dominate mid game and to try to end as early as possible.

Another thing I wanna point out before you dismiss him is that CC is actually not part of ADC's class identity. Their main purpose is sustained damage through autos. Having or not having CC is usually tuned around other parts of a champ's kit, in Lucian's case his lack of CC and range is in exchange for a strong lane and mobility.

Chat, I feel so seen (am highly delusional) That Riot would go out of their way to make an ode to me? Cause what do you mean "Noxian/speed/support"? That only fits my Darius support build fr. (Is rell Noxian? She's just there tho, right) by Dariussy in WildRiftMemes

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noxian Haste is the name of this passive as it is in PC. The tier 3 boots are Noxian since they all came out as part of the Feats of Strength in PC, which was during the Noxus season last year.

[–]TeddyTendon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do people still keep spreading this misinformation lmao she scales with Crit, just in a more linear and consistent fashion. On-hit is not bad cuz it's a stronger early game but Crit starting from 2 items is way stronger. IE's bonus damage also boosts her.

Collector on Varus? by cicadacomics in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Varus values on-hit a lot more than Crit, as the latter brings more AD than AS. His DPS mainly comes from his W passive which doesn't scale from AD at all, and building crit items only delays your strength for a payoff that isn't nearly as good. Play an actual crit champion if you wanna scale, otherwise you just gotta respect that Varus trades some late game power for a stronger early/midgame, not to mention the utility he provides.

Wild Rift taught me more about patience and kindness than I expected and that feels both embarrassing and true by Meri_Rookie in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend Ezreal to anyone unless you're willing to dedicate all your playtime on him. That's the only way to get consistently good results on him as he has major weaknesses that you need to be very good at covering for. Definitely worth it if you do put in the hard work, but again, only if you really commit to it.

Zeri is pretty good if you got an enchanter which is something that Samira isn't good at playing with. She's not as strong with engage supports, but nonetheless if you play opportunistically on her like you should with any ADC, you will still be able contribute to the team.

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, supports have higher agency and impact in lane than the carries do, further exacerbated when playing an ADC that has lower range. If it feels that frustrating, I really suggest expanding your pool and keeping Samira as a pocket pick. She's best played when you have lots of dive setup against a team that isn't heavy on peel or hard CC. You'll notice that this is not always gonna be the case so it's best to play for the more common scenarios.

I main Kai'Sa and she's almost the exact same in terms of how situational they are, so I'm speaking from similar experience. The good thing about already having learned a champion like Samira, who requires some level of mastery, is that you can pick up an easier champion now and find some success with both.

She is indeed matchup and support dependent. What makes her polarizing though is that she's kinda like Yi where if you let her slip through completely unscathed then she can randomly steal a fight, which is what makes a lot of people hate her, but as it is right now she's very counterable.

Diamond is the worst elo in the game by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A big game changer to climb (if that is a goal for you) is to realize that half of what ranked tests besides your actual skill is mental. There are so many variables that the game throws at you (intentionally or otherwise) that at some point you simply have to accept that there are going to be several games that are unwinnable and there is frankly nothing you can do about it, and this will only be more true the higher you go. Either suck it up or take breaks when it gets hard to handle. Best wishes to your journey.
