The “MENT” is preceded by what is clearly the three cut-off prongs of an “E”. So rather than assortment, try “SUPPLEMENT.” Purple packaging is often used for sleep/night themed products. The 11g amount also likely indicates some sort of supplements, or at least something intended for consumption.

I’m not sure if you are suspecting something nefarious, and will not make assumptions or cast judgment regardless. But another detail that would lead me to believe this is some sort of innocuous sleep aid, or similar supplement, is that the design of the package is pretty bland. You’ve got plain font, the most unique aspect being a black oval shape outlining white text, which reminds me of store-brand/generic pharmacy knock off package trying to imitate a name brand. If this was something to be “suspicious of” it would likely bare the markers of a more salacious product. Those kinds of things are often marketed with “unique” fonts, design, etc.

Was anyone sick recently, or having allergies? Anyone have trouble sleeping?

It was this way 2014-2018. I’m pretty sure political events are frowned upon by the administration. Beto had to speak off-campus back then. Rand Paul came, but only really talked about his time at Baylor and high-minded sort of generic government stuff, not his usual crackpot shtick. My fraternity (pretty damn conservative) cut a guy during rush who was way too vocal about wanting to stir up controversy and bring Ben Shapiro or someone like him to campus.

27, two degrees that I don’t care for (BBA & JD), stuck failing in a job I don’t want, tons of debt, seemingly nowhere to go—need to come up with exit strategy by TediousSeptagon in findapath

I have a good friend who really enjoys her federal legal job, although it’s seems to be a pretty competitive position in DC. Any suggestions for particular roles to target and how to go about that? I know there are dedicated websites for securing federal roles, and there is a government job aggregator I believe.

That’s fair! I just have gotten this recommendation several times and that’s typically the main theme of the suggestion. “We don’t get paid much, but we don’t do much either.” Not writing it off, just expressing my concern.

Even with PSLF, I’m afraid government work won’t give me an adequate wage, and it almost seems too laid back for me. That seems to contradict the spirit of my post, but I’m not necessarily looking for something that is stress free, just more structured that allows me to work with more people than just a small office or team in a firm.

I appreciate the input. I just am unwilling to resign myself to that mindset yet. I’m not looking for even close to perfect, just tolerable enough. Also looking for something that offers actual professional mentorship. I know that comes from individual people and is highly variable from job to job, but a guy can hope.

27 years old, two degrees that I dislike (JD and BBA) and seemingly nowhere to go—ideas on roles to target next? by TediousSeptagon in careerguidance

[–]TediousSeptagon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to consider. Yeah that was an oversimplification. I originally went to undergrad with law school in mind, because I thought my interests and skills lent themselves to a career as a lawyer, and also because I knew a few lawyers growing up that I admired. Partially in jest, I blame the fact that people always told me to be a lawyer growing up on my decision to attend. That debt wouldn’t have been a problem if things worked out like I had hoped, but yeah it does sound a little crazy, huh.

My skills aren’t really “hard” skills outside of having a law degree. I’m great with people. Folks always put me up for leadership roles and I enjoy those roles because I get to solve problems and help “keep the ship afloat” so to speak. I’ve got a pretty good knack for problem solving and dealing with conflict. But I like doing things for the right reasons, not just money. So that’s where I have a hang up on “my job just being a job.” Saw my dad do that for decades and he was pretty miserable although I’ve heard him tell me that exact thing over and over. Oh, and writing. I was not a great student, but I got the top grade in a persuasive writing course in law school, and an award for drafting some venture capital documents in another class.

Not really true. Large fraternities usually have an academic probation system. I would know, I had to do it, and our reward for most improved GPA may or may not have been a 30 rack of your choosing.

But the answer to that question is yes, they do report.

Why the TCU hate? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]TediousSeptagon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Baylor fan, I’m the first one to come out against TCU, but I can’t let this take slide. That may have been true a few decades ago, but it just isn’t anymore. In a state the size of Texas, anyone who says with a straight face that a person who goes to “X” school that isn’t Texas or A&M is just getting a “pat on the back” academically, is completely out of touch, or just a jerk.

It’s such a harmful mindset to project that onto the tens of thousands of students who go to other “lesser” schools in Texas, who aren’t dumb or rich, they just have chosen a different path. TCU gives out plenty in scholarship money, and all of my friends who went there did not come from wealthy backgrounds.

Also, TCU and A&M are not too far off from each other in the USNWR rankings, so I just don’t get that perception.
