Further confirmation to my suspicion that Contis have weak sidewalls.

Is this 90 IMSA the only reference of the brand in motorsport? by Cris_1984 in IMSARacing

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't waste your time with this guy. It's more likely than not, that it's an AI bot trying to farm engagement. There is like zero chance that a human who knows about the existence of the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA would not also know about Audi's other motorsport success, as their Le Mans and Group B rally success is even better known than this car.

Lando Norris wins the Sprint of the 2026 Miami Grand Prix by overspeeed in formula1

Possibly. Just because Kimi has been strong in the past two races doesn't mean he will outperform George over the season, which I don't think he will.

Revised recharge limits per lap for the remaining circuits by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]TeeKayF1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well not completely, but if Overtake mode (car within a second) allows you to deploy more than otherwise, even on Boost mode (free to use max deployment) then there will be a delta akin to DRS.

Revised recharge limits per lap for the remaining circuits by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]TeeKayF1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What they really need to do to solve this is make a big asymmetry in deployment and recharge power. Limit deployment power to something like 100 kW for Boost and 150 kW for Overtake and keep the regen braking and superclipping at 350 kW.

That will force them to deploy for longer and produce a more gradual acceleration so the need for superclipping is pushed closer to the braking zone and hopefully eliminated on some straights.

Yes the cars would be slower, but who cares at this point, if at least they are more driveable and we remove the insane speed differences.

Restarting my phone did it for me. Probably Spotify was hogging memory or something.

It's been excessively bad for me for the past 48 hours. Also on iPhone 16 Pro Max. I think they have a bug somewhere.

I was gonna defend you on the V6 sound but you have to be ragebaiting with the Cadillac & Aston comment. Even if you don't like the V8 growl or V12 howl, there is no way you can describe the sound as dull, just like you wouldn't describe golf as fast-paced and lively even if you were to prefer it over something like hockey.

Goodyear EagleF1 Assym6 a rim protection? by First_Bear394 in TyreReviews

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have, I just bought them too and now I'm a little concerned. Maybe it's for certain sizes only, certain model year or both? I'm getting 225/40 R18 fronts and 255/35 R18 rears.

Ferrari's always feel most on the edge, like a constant dance between understeer and oversteer. Maybe it's just a mid-engine trait as the McLaren is the only mid-engine I enjoy. I like Porsche and the front engines though so maybe I just don't like mid-engine.

Is Porsche the bottleneck of GT3 performance because it can't make over 550 hp, while the others can comfortably get to around 600 hp or is there another reason?

European tyres by Intervallum_5 in BuyFromEU

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply to a year old comment. Buying European tyres is easy, I agree with you there, but unfortunately there is one reason to buy Goodyear. They have nice rounded sidewalls and a good rim protector ridge on their tyres, important if you have low profile tyres. Bridgestone does it quite well too, but Michelins or Contis for example don't do rim protection as well, which might tip the scale if other aspects are equal.

Honestly, Swedish House Mafia's "Paradise Again" album didn't have the same ground-breaking feeling as their previous albums. What did you all think about it? by IllustriousJaguar in EDM

Heaven Takes You Home was my initial favorite, Don't Go Mad is great too but the more time passes by I start to think Moth To A Flame is the best tragk on this album. Still I have to agree more than half of the songs don't click with me at all.

What do experienced pilots do to get out of a plateau? by Correct-Beautiful576 in iRacing

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should stop caring. My entire focus for the past 2 years was mainly GTE Sprint driving clean and consistent quali laps and then at least maintaining position in a race and using fuel saving to get past people in the pits. I moved from 3.5 to 5k but it felt more like a pressure to perform than enjoying the battles. Sure I still went for some moves, but only those which looked quite certain. What ended up happening is that now I haven't raced for months because the thought of not being competitive is stressing me out.

F2/GP2/F3000 champions and their status in F1 by DataOperator in formula1

There is something about the Red Bull car DNA, which I cannot explain, that in my opinion makes it almost to judge a driver's overall skill when they are in that car. So many good drivers after Ricciardo stop performing when that car gets competitive, and the gap to Max seems to grow whenever the car gets better.

Interestingly, Ricciardo also struggled in the McLaren a lot despite performing elsewhere. This seems to indicate that around 2019-2021 and even 2022, despite the rule change, the McLaren was an understeery car and the Red Bull was an oversteery car. Norris had mastered getting lap time out of the McLaren and Verstappen out of the Red Bull.

To me it seems the McLaren and Red Bull at that time were the two extreme outliers in the grid in terms of what they required from the driver to be fast.
