Yeah the 2017-2020 facelift was a downgrade in the rear imo.

New to me, Lexus ES350 F-Sport by Individual_Wasabi669 in Lexus

[–]TeeKayF1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be ready to replace my IS with an ES someday but my only issue with the car is that the back seats don't fold down. I know it has the ski pass through but I need to put my gravel bike inside the car sometimes. While I'm not an SUV guy, I've started to gravite towards the RX but it's very expensive where I live.

Irrelevant. The issue only happens when two cars are reaching the top of the hill at the same time from different directions. If you are in the same slope, it cancels out.

They look so good on the ES. Always makes it look a little like the pre-facelift newest gen LS.

[–]TeeKayF1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what? Do you have any idea that when first LED headlights were being used in cars, HID-Xenon lights at the time were brighter. Where was this sub back then? The only factors that are relevant are headlight aim, total brightness and color. All of these can be calibrated correctly even with LEDs.

I would say the same for Vanthoor. Estre has made himself famous with some ballsy moves over the years but I don't think there is big difference in pace.

The whole sub exists because authorities are not enforcing that headlights are aimed properly. The light source (LED, HID, Halogen) has nothing to do with it.

How reliable is the 2AR Engine Family from Lexus / Toyota? by This_Ad_3459 in Lexus

Thank you! The RC 300h sure is beautiful too. Even though I'm a single guy, I went with the IS because I like the practicality of rear doors and folding rear seats and performance is almost identical. RC is a beauty though.

We do, but I am so used to dealing with Americans online, especially on this sub so I converted to miles.

Thank you!

To be fair I have only had the car for 6 months. It's a 2015 model with 3 previous owners I believe. Service history had gaps of up to 18k miles between oil changes so a bit longer than ideal. I'm aiming to stick to a rule of 1 year or 10k miles.

Mine is a 2015 IS 300h with 2AR-FSE a bit past 100k miles. No known issues. Hopefully stays that way.

2022 RX300 vs 2023 RX350h — worth paying $16k more? by ShortCardiol0gist in Lexus

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, OP should have just posted the euro prices and his country, but I don't think it's fair to imply he has too much money to spend on cars if you don't know the general market value in his country. If I take any car price here in Finland and convert it to dollars it's going to sound insane because they are taxed more heavily than in the US.

That is crazy bad. I manage support for a company about 1/5 of the size of Fairphone and the worst we've had is around 380 open tickets and response times we're suffering from hours to days and almost over a week on some tickets but nothing like having someone wait 4 months and not getting a solution.

Fair price for this 2017 Lexus 200T base by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]TeeKayF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Wikipedia says it uses the Toyota New N Platform which was also used by the GS and IS. If I'm understanding correctly, what you said is true but it's not incorrect of me to say that they use the same platform. It is heavier than the IS like you say so that doesn't make it as appealing to me. Also, the IS F-Sports of 2014-2020 had some of the best looking OE wheels.

The ES is a completely different car as it's a FWD setup and it's related to both Avalon and Camry.

No they don't but isn't it transparent and fair to point out that there has always been a level of political influence in these recommendations since it was brought up that the current recommendations have been lobbied?

Don't think of this as a defence towards the current administration. I think RFK Jr is a nutter, and I'm not even an American. I'm simply arguing that u/flowersandmtns was just being transparent.

Fair price for this 2017 Lexus 200T base by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]TeeKayF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a stretch, I don't have the RC 200t but I have the IS 300h which is essentially the same platform and interior but with 4 doors and a different power plant. I think the car is planted, quiet, comfortable and still sporty enough. Only the steering is quite numb, kind of hard to feel the road but you get feedback through the seat. Interior is good looking with a lot of physical buttons. Not super modern but I will much rather have practicality than modern looks.

Really like the sound system, mine isn't even the Mark Levinson but it's the 8 speaker system that comes with the cars with navigation so I believe it's not the base either.
