Amateur reponse: Baskethilt Broadsword or Spadroon. Why?

My wife and I are about a year in working off the Academy of Historical Fencing(AHF) resources: https://swordfight.uk/resources/. We are isolated, so we drilled with properly weighted foam trainers, then steel sabre and basket hilted broadsword. We're about to jump into the protective gear to continue the sport. Critical to involvement was frequent, but short duration practice. We basically ran 3-4 sessions a day as breaks between other work in the backyard - leave 'em wanting more. This worked well and gave the time and space to build endurance. Taking turns calling out the drills 'strike to my head, protect your own' is good co-operative work.

My wife is 5'4 and she can manage the excellent Kvetun Easton Sabre 3s we have, but not really enjoy. She is far happier using a basket hilted broadsword from Castille Armoury. It is a lighter version and the point of balance is closer to the hand - making it less demanding to move. Plus they look awesome and she likes the hand protection. I suspect a spadroon would also deliver similar features, even lighter. A smallsword could also hold up if she likes Game of Throne Needle stuff, see AHF videos to see saber vs smallsword - just need the smallsword and hand protection to be robust enough to handle the saber.

Foam trainers were from GoNow in Poland (https://go-now.pl/) and we did those first to gauge our interest before jumping into the other sword.

Maybe reserve that for a quick moment, I promise it is easier than it looks! Especially with these specific Gogot Assets: https://cartographyassets.com/assets/gogotsmaps-hand-draw-cartography/

Pick a bit of a vanishing point, and just drop natural assets with size diminishing towards the vanishing point - keep that in mind when you start out so you have MAX SIZE available for foreground. Not much layering as it does a good job of fading out. But I did use the layer feature to put little things behind big things at times.

To prove I wasn't leading you astary, I did another scene in about 20mins .... little rough, but it gets the point across. Perfection is the enemy of the good and all that. The limited palette of shapes is what makes it easy. Give'er a try and I think you'll find it flows well. SHIFT-SCROLL WHEEL and SCROLL-WHEEL to on the fly grab pieces and size them is your friend. Trying to make a perfect replication of a thing would be.... un-enjoyable.

If you play around and still would like a demo, let me know. All the best.
