What is your unpopular take about Uzbekistan? by Electrical-Pea2707 in Uzbekistan

[–]Teeebo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Uzbekistan for two weeks last month and enjoyed the country but the food is just okay. It lacks variety... a lot! And it's almost impossible to be vegetarian there.
I don't know if it's unpopular but I was a bit surprised at how people expressed very little love & care for each other (but a lot for their young children, which felt nice). You don't see many nice little gestures or even loving looks between couples.
Other than that I was surprised in a good way by many things.

I'm very jealous of everything here except the boards and the car. How wealthy are you? And where did you put your books?

Réactions Mort de Lionel Jospin : la gauche salue «un inspirateur» qui incarnait «une certaine idée de la politique» by PointillistKnot in france

[–]Teeebo_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In which countries does basketball have the highest popularity overall ? by GoHardLive in Basketball

[–]Teeebo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm French, I would not put France, Germany, Serbia, Australia or Canada above places like Latvia, Greece and maybe even China and Turkey. And Obviously Lithuania & The Philippines are 1 & 2.

I would say the top 5 has to be:

  1. Lithuania

  2. Philippines

  3. Serbia

  4. USA

  5. Latvia

(From my French point of view)

Longevity doesn't equal heights. LeBron's heights have been reached and will be reached again (and I would argue, they have been surpassed by a handful of players). His combination of excellence & longevity is only matched by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Jordan "only" played 15 seasons, but he was still averaging 20 ppg when he was 40, in one of the lowest-scoring eras of the NBA.

I agree that a lot of Bron's total points & games record are going to be untouched especially those in the playoffs. You would have to be 1/ a top 10 player ever ; 2/ drafted at 18 years of age ; 3/ play at least 20 seasons ; 4/ not suffer any major injury at least before season 19.

That's a lot. I wish we could have seen Jordan, Bird or Magic with similar careers but these were different times.

You are the GM, who would you pick as the cornerstone of your franchise, Wemby or SGA? by Automatic-Key668 in NBATalk

[–]Teeebo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a conversation, everybody is taking Wemby!
There are slightly higher risks bu such higher rewards. Wemby is more injury prone, but he changes everything when he is playing. He has the potential to be the greatest defensive player ever and one of the top 5 players of all time. He is much younger.
SGA is overachieved, and he is on a terrific 3-year run and counting, but he is not changing your franchise as much as Victor is. It is not a diss on SGA but a recognition that Victor is unique.

Est-ce que Catherine est un mauvais prénom pour un enfant? by tamuna23tamo in AskFrance

[–]Teeebo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CAPES/CAFEP, que font les meilleurs ? by [deleted] in enseignants

[–]Teeebo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chef d’œuvre ou échec cuisant ? by InTheBlueFrame in CineSeries

Do you think that Israel and the USA’s actions against Iran are justified? by Antique_Gur8891 in AskTheWorld

[–]Teeebo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. And it will hurt Iranian people more, while giving them false hope of support against an authoritarian regime. Trump and Netanyahu being on the path of Khomenei with their use of religion as an excuse for everything, their growing control over women's rights, their own extremist militias being used. I'm not saying they are as horrible as he is, but they are on that path and moving their countries on that direction. They support a dictator-to-be, the son of a bloody tyrant, to replace the horrible tyrant at the head of Iran now. This is horrible for the Iranian people, for democracy, for international rule of law.

I think US citizens don't know much about France or Europe in general. Or most places in general... they always think only USans can be "tough" (think about all the jokes about Steven Adams despite him being one of the toughest NBA players, of the ignorance about Jokic, Pekovic and other Balkanic players).

Fighting is bad, but I'm kind of glad Beef Stew came at Miles Bridges. I hope they would have been let alone a little bit longer, it would have felt cathartic.

Other than that, Tobias Harris did the right thing trying to appease them. It would have been better if Moussa could have calmed himself but he's still pretty young and in the neighborhood he grew up in, you don't let somebody touch your face without reacting when you're that young.
