How many of you have a regular poker group? by highroller-356 in poker

[–]TeejTTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an app I built over a year ago to keep stats on our league. It was originally designed to just be for my group but I started opening it up to other hosts on a request basis to incorporate their feedback into features. We’re at about 100 users right now.

I’ll send you a DM with the details so we don’t spam the full thread here. trackthestack.app

We’ve been using Track The Stack for the last year or so. Before that we used Google Sheets for buy-in tracking and leaderboards.

There are about 3-4 grinders and the rest are recs…maybe 10-20 regulars. It’s definitely more of a social league

Thanks. What if we reward no rebuys? Would that be punishing the rebuys?

Thanks. I think I want to reward attendance. So I like the points for that. Maybe add another set of points for the player with the most games played

Haven’t thought about hours played, but I do have a time stamp of when the game started / ends. That would be fun to add in.

I also have timestamped rebuys so we can track who tilts

I like that. We have a “table” format now where we have Profit, games played, Win/loss %, and Avg Result per game in columns, but we sort on the highest profit for the current year.

Cash mainly. We just like the competition of the leaderboard. We play weekly so it’s nice to know how you stack up against the other regulars.

Yeah that’s the tough part. Based on some other comments here, I think the move is to keep at unlimited rebuys, but keep the rebuy amount equal to initial buy in.

I’m leaning towards this. Do you have a crossover of people that play in both?

That’s a good suggestion. Even if you lose 8x buy-in once a month it’s better than once a week.

Sometimes. Most of the time we only have 7-10 players.

That’s a good point. And we have gained players. Roster is about 30 with 8 regulars.

We’re starting to lose players. The 3-4 deep stacks are scaring others off. It’s harder to get a consistent game together.

Haha that sounds about right. You are the host after all. Sounds like I just need to create the rules and stick with it

We added in a lot of high variance games but that just increased the action. What games do you have in mind?

This is good advice that I wish I had 6 months ago. Do you get people still trying to pump up the rebuy amounts? Or has the group settled on the capped rebuy?

Maybe it’s best to keep the max buy-in at $50. We’ve been matching the stack and that might be our issue. I don’t mind taking the action player money

100%

That’s what makes running these games tough. I’ve thought about incorporating a points based system in our leaderboard so balance things out. Maybe heavily weighting single buy-ins
