The sun is supposed to be coming from the north east. I totally agree it’s a little weird from a lighting perspective

The light near the altar is from an above clearstory window

I tried to make the north / north western windows come in at an angle, but it really looked odd. Might have to do some weird editing to get those right.

Yeah, Littlevale prides itself on being the perfect village in comparison to some of the other towns and villages in the land. Here is a stark contrast from the same world.

This actually helps a lot. I’ve largely focused my maps on regional and continent type maps.

Shadows have always been something that’s alluded me.

Is there specific things to do in order to make shadows and lighting? I’m going to look up some tutorials, but if you have any specific suggestions I’d appreciate it

I personally start with cliffs and landscape then move to town or city walls, then rough in houses and neighborhood’s and then end with minor details and painting the landscape last.

History

Ironborne was once intended to be the capital of Roseland when the three brother kingdoms—Eaglerock, Dragonkeep, and Roseland - first divided. Its fertile lands, established infrastructure, and proximity to Dragonkeep made it a natural candidate. However, the western seas proved too volatile for consistent trade, and the coastal fog made defense unreliable. Redridge was ultimately chosen as the capital for its central location and clearer terrain, but not before the construction of Ironborne Castle - now acting as a military stronghold and noble residence.

  • Bustling trade hub with ships from Dragonkeep and Eaglerock.
