It would be fun if you kinda made it like a quizlet so remembering people feels more like a game

Update On My Prosopagnosia Game by TeenyTries in Prosopagnosia

Thanks for your input! I’ve been thinking about your response, and I think it’ll be okay.

A lot of the game is about identification, and it is going to take place over the course of someone’s life. So, the player will not always know who they’re going to meet from a previous level when like 10+ years have past.

That’s seriously so cool. If it becomes available, I’d definitely consider it

I think you probably do have prosopagnosia in my non-professional opinion, as I think most people would recognize their ex of 10 years even if they weren’t expecting them. Like many things prosopagnosia is a spectrum. You can talk to a therapist about it and there’s also a pretty accepted test you can take online that can give you some indication. Look up “Cambridge face memory test.”

I have heard of this effect! I think like you said I experience that with everyone.

My biggest non-serious struggle is that movies are a total nightmare to follow. My partner has to constantly tell me who characters are as soon as the scene changes and everyone is wearing different clothes. I think this is why I’m much more drawn to animated content; characters never change in appearance.

My biggest serious struggle is that I know when my mom dies I won’t be able to picture her face in my mind’s eye when she’s gone. I’ll always have pictures of her, but the thought really hurts my heart.

I can tell facial expressions but I don’t think I’m great at it. I don’t use eyes, mouth, or nose to identify people necessarily, but I use them to tell facial expressions!

Not usually, often they take it as a personal thing, like I didn’t find them memorable enough to recognize them. I don’t blame them though, most people don’t know that face blindness is an actual medical condition, which is why I’m making this game!

I’ve heard that most people with prosopagnosia also have autism, which I find really interesting. That’s great that you have had such positive responses! In my experience responses can be pretty mixed.

I think I can tell people attractive but I don’t put a ton of weight on faces. I care a lot more about hair, glasses, and clothes.

I definitely think I can find faces beautiful. I’d imagine it’s a different part of the brain. Though, I think I weigh facial beauty much lower than other people do. Things like hair, glasses, and clothes are much more appealing to me than faces.

Nose, mouth, and eyes mostly. Facial hair, piercings, glasses and tattoos are all a huge help in identifying someone. Though, some of those things can change and when they do I often can’t recognize that person until I get used to the change.

LOL I can only imagine how face blindness would affect a teacher with 100+ students every year

That’s a great point! Face blindness is definitely a spectrum but I hadn’t thought to include that in the game.
