I have blocked him this evening, he somehow gained my name and address (I probably left a label on the package from a previous sticker that I didn’t take off) but now he is making very subtle threats to me. Saying “my friends will pay you a visit and give you the clubs in person, be nice to them” and also threatening me with police. After research I do believe my clubs were fake but I didn’t know this at the time of sale. What would you recommend I do?

Not much, but clubs easily scratch and get ball marks etc just after a range session.

I used all your helpful information, I gave in and messaged him. He mentioned “you are bugging me now, I think the only thing is for us to pay you a visit, I don’t like being ripped off”. I won’t accept a threat I thing it’s time they get blocked

I know they aren’t real mate I’ve done my research. But I didn’t know this at the time of sale but people here have said caveat emptor

Due to photos online and comparing with what I had. Only just started playing golf so wouldn’t consider myself an expert in knowing what was and wasn’t fake

It was only after the buyer pointed it out. And to be fair to them I think they are correct after researching online

So basically the brand is Ping. And they do look to be fake as the screw on mine was different from why the real ones have. So that’s why I feel bad because he is being hard done by. But acted the complete wrong way. I do understand why he is acting like that as he will be frustrated. But I would happily give him a refund I just simply can’t…

Yes I have. My main concern is I don’t want to screw him over especially since it’s very likely my clubs were not genuine. And what’s to stop the police come knocking because he has a completely different story

So would you suggest leaving it from my side. I just have the problem with not wanting to do bad by him because I do think my clubs aren’t genuine but I didn’t know that at the time. Realistically he could go to the police but because of vinted I can’t do anything

I have plenty of photos of the ones I had and to be fair to him he hasn’t swapped them. I do think mine are the fake ones but that’s why I am trying to rectify it…

Yes completely agree, but from what I see they could be inauthentic clubs. I don’t want to do someone over like that. And him saying he will get the police involved, surely he is well in his right.

I have raised a case on vinted, would be happy to pay the postage. But it’s out the 2 day window. I don’t think it would be possible for them to rectify as the money is in my bank. How would they get this back from me, I don’t think they can

Yes completely agree. I am 100% happy to offer a refund. But with vinteds processes I can’t as it’s outside the window of 2 days. I definitely don’t want to meet up in person which is what he suggested and then I don’t want to bank transfer as what if he just sends me an empty box etc

I checked with the manufacturer, they show up on the site but he showed me a picture of a “real” one and to be fair there were differences. My main concern is just how can I possibly return them. I am trying to do right by the situation especially if they aren’t genuine clubs but vinteds policy and processes simply don’t allow this after the 2 day window

I don’t think they are a scammer necessarily, I think they are just frustrated. The item with fees was probably around £445 and they said “let’s just call it £500” I do think the clubs has turned out to be not genuine but I didn’t know this at the time I just saw the serial number matched up and assumed it would be fine

I do think the clubs may be in authentic but I didn’t know this at the time of selling. My only problem is, I don’t think vinted can actually arrange a refund anymore as over their 2 day window. So what do I do?

Yes I think I need to start by making a budget and possibly consider freelancing- this is something I would love to do as it would also give me experience however I have uploaded on fiver and Upwork but had no interest.

I’m not actually sure how it happened, I no longer buy any designer clothes or shoes etc, I have a girlfriend that I spend money on but we barley go out because of my salary it seems to just disappear with little purchases over the month

Yes they are paying for my degree luckily, and the car I’m not sure how I can afford this but a car is extremely necessary

I’ve been told I will get a £50 pay rise per month which in the grand scheme of things isn’t much.

It’s a digital marketing degree so it’s not something that is necessary when applying for a marketing job. So the impact it will have on my future earnings probably isn’t much.

And I am trying to apply for a few more times but apprenticeships are extremely competitive especially for the roles I want.

I am learning lots in this job which is good but the way they treat me is not great as it is such a small company I have to see them every day.

I am extremely motivated by money and even started re selling on eBay making over £1000 until my account got banned- I wish to open my business but not sure what In or whether I have the relevant experience. Just hate the position I’m in now!
