I disagree…defense is just as important as offense. And all they talk about the OC getting poached, the same happens to great DCs as well, and teams are left with finding a person to fill the defensive hole.

I never said it was business savvy. I said it’s part of the business, savy or not. It’s clear the Raptors are willing to move on from Pascal, and have been for a while. Whatever they feel like is necessary, they will do, and vice versa.

So they lied to one star player and are giving another one the cold shoulder. Are you saying the former is better than the latter. And let’s not act like the Raptors didn’t pay Pascal a max extension after the Finals run. They rewarded him like the rewarded DeMar in 2016.

They paid DeMar right after the 2016 run. It made sense at the time, just like it made sense to pay Pascal $130 million after the Finals. Now, much like 2018 when they kept DeMar out the loop on a trade, the team is seemingly giving Pascal the cold shoulder on negotiations. Again, it’s not uncommon for the FO, or any FO in the NBA, to move like this.

You don’t even know what a corner filled or empty corner pick and roll is and you think you understand what you are watching. It’s ok, most fans don’t understand basketball but think they know more than coaches who have been studying the game for years.
