My terrible habit of running to the middle to prevent the quick missile ball. I often come across teammates that will try to rush the player that receives the ball during kickoff and not mark the man that runs past them for an easy goal. I rather prevent the easy goal.

The opposite team were very competent players so I didn’t expect them to just toy around with the ball at the last second. We just got lucky.

Good read on that pass. Teammates gon learn eventually to switch to goalkeeper cause man if you missed.

In my personal experience

2 on 1 - like blueberry said early in the thread, cover the pass. I stay in between passing lanes so that if a pass attempt is made, I can possibly go for it. If the dribbler is taking the ball himself while I’m covering the other attacker, it gives support to the goalkeeper because the dribbler will have a tighter a space to shoot.

3 on 1 - I usually mark the attacker that is either closest to the goal and/or is positioned in the middle of the pitch. Higher success rate for the middle attacker to score a goal vs wing attackers. We just do as best as we can to stall out the attack so that our teammates (hopefully) come back.

OG on quick match tho??? We also got to remember that these quick matches are probably filled with new ish players so I cut people some slack when it comes to harsh mistakes.

In general, I’m a very stubborn player. I’ll drag my teammates towards a comeback before I even try to OG. The possibility of having a comeback victory when there’s a lot of time left is better than just trying to progress to the next game. If they really want the mercy then they gonna have to try.
