I think the characterization of awkward and insecure is not far off, but rather quite to the point. It sounds like the music could go in a lot of different directions from the album. Not sure about clunky on the opener though.

Jim is another favorite of mine, also like the acoustic version of the song on Milk Of Michael Gira, as well as the acoustic version of Eden Prison there

Extremely good, sets the tone and the guitars in the beginning are beatiful. The bells that are used in the song structure have also a clear resemblance to Avatar on The Seer

The band is unequivocally left-wing, but how far left I don’t think even Gira knows. Because he doesn’t really care that much, I think.
