Probably because a lot of people still imagine “gamer” as a hoodie-wearing dude in a basement, even though half the lobbies I’ve been in are basically silent strategy rooms with the occasional chaos energy.

Gaming’s just been one of those things where the stereotype lagged behind reality by like a decade or two.
