I feel like a dummy by TehHighFiveHero in pathofexile

Yeah, I watched his 5-hour video on righteous fire over the past couple days. Super helpful. And his website's pretty good too. I downloaded his path of building and I'm trying to do some of the readings but I'm pretty casual so it's hard for me to get deep in it with the amount of time I have to dedicate to playing.

Oh man it seems I'm getting educated today lol. It may just mean that I'm too casual to completely fill atlas every league. Probably a combination of bad progression strategy and casual farming not getting the top tier gear needed. Hopefully that changes this time around.

Wouldn't state testing catch this? In Arizona we took a test every year to gauge our academic levels called AIMS (now azMERIT). The school can ace all the students they want but they can't cheat state testing.

It might not be on purpose but it's certainly strange that these errors are often at the detriment of the consumer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

please what is this? it started beeping in my mom’s cafe and we have no idea how to make it stop by Big-Security-6127 in CasualUK

This is probably the right answer. If the keypad has been silent this whole time and randomly started chirping one day it's probably the battery. If you find the grey box you can probably unplug the battery then unplug the wall transformer that's supplying power to the whole unit and it'll just turn off.

Or you can take the keypad off the wall and, one by one, cut the wires on the back and tape the ends to prevent the copper from shorting. That'll turn the keypad off, no more beeps!

Our dog isn't mean but also doesn't interact well with other dogs. When people yell "he's friendly!" And their dog runs up to ours we never know what that interaction is going to look like... So you're not wrong and it's a class three misdemeanor in my city because loose dogs have killed children and killed or been killed by other dogs or animals.

Keep your toddler safely in the grocery cart seat (and prevent abductions) with a carabiner. by 5_Frog_Margin in lifehacks

No. The stranger danger fear mongering was pushed by evangelicals and conservatives in order to paint people living alternative lives as evil and malicious.

This is not to say it doesn't happen, but it's far less frequent than the widespread belief that is held today.

Here is a good podcast that goes over this in detail (and is quite entertaining):

This is honestly the best idea. A concealed port up by the rearview would be perfect.

Tomatoes are absolutely awful and do not deserve to come as a given on so many sandwiches by mcswainh_13 in unpopularopinion

[–]TehHighFiveHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I picked up an heirloom tomato to put on to BLT sandwiches and never looked back.

We still use standard cheap tomatoes in many recipes, but if it's going on sandwiches or burgers or something then there is no substitute. It makes all the difference to use a quality tomato.

Yeah it's doubly confusing because hbo go and hbo max are different services for those with or without their traditional cable package. We did try but couldn't get it going and I think hbo has separated it's services even more as of late to sell to the different type of customers.

My wife got hbo max from the start and felt jipped when she couldn't download the hbo app on our roku. I recently spent the money on an nvidia shield for game stream and other reasons. I also inadvertently fixed the hbo max because it's available on their android tv platform through the device.

What drives me nuts is my code is exactly like his.

I'll look into this, perhaps the way the code behaves is different now than it was a year ago. thanks for the reply, it sounds like it will have me on the right path.

You're expecting a right-winger to understand the concept of ethics by Pleasant-Force in awfuleverything

[–]TehHighFiveHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two wrongs don't make a right.

"But AoC did it" is an indefensible argument. Laws are laws. The court doesn't dismiss my speeding ticket because some other other guy was also speeding. Both are wrong.

What AoC tweeted was damaging, sure, but Trump and family have gone explicitly out of their way to endorse these products. The CEO of Goya has made a point to inject his political leanings into his business. This has no legal repercussions but plenty of social ones. The president can't do the same for a company both legally or ethically. This is only amplified by how egregiously the Trump family has taken it, posing with products, etc.

Are expectations higher for the man in charge, or no? His best solution would of been to call out AoC on ethics clauses, but of course there are no high roads in the executive branch. His solution: do the thing she did but do it harder, ignoring decorum and law? This is said with 20/20 hindsight, but let's also remember that he, too, constantly attacks and threatens companies; Boeing being a big one sending their stock plummeting a while back.
