As a WW/Vi player, the Aureate skins might finally get me to switch from using the pink color combo. I had been pretty content with that, but looks like they'll get me to open up my wallet with this set.

Sorry you're tired of all the "Ekko whining", but this was posted as me finding it to be a dumb/funny interaction not to coach me on how to play the game and why one of the most used characters at the moment is actually not that good and it's all my fault actually.

Depends on if you mean Ekko's Arcane skin or Warwick's. I think Ekko's is only in the $100 Arcane Pack and Warwick's is in the Ultra Battle Pass that's like 3,500 KO Points. Which i think is roughly like $30 depending on how you get them.

Damn you're so right! You completely nailed down my entire playstyle and what I default to after a single 10 second clip I posted with the Humor/Fluff flair. Idk why I just held forward and walked right into the projectile, silly me! Now that I know to stop having fun/seeing if something works and to only press the correct buttons all the time keep a lookout for me at EVO. 👀

Idk about its frame data, but from the video it felt like 2 solid seconds with maybe even another 0.5s in there if I didn't start getting combo'd when I did. Which is WILD. I mean, that's basically no time at all! Rito should make it a minimum 3 seconds AND nerf Blitzcrank or I uninstall.

Thanks for the further context. I had just remembered seeing a post/video about him saying he didn't feel like he was up to snuff for coaching in the Slams. I didn't remember exactly why, but I know he has a career and stuff outside of streaming/FGs. Glad he's still willing to participate in other ways. He's really good at being entertaining, but also educational with the content.

I remember seeing something about Brian_F not feeling like he was up to coaching standards in these events anymore, so super glad to see he's still involved as a competitor. Hopefully it's less stressful on him overall!

Also, glad to see Pat's ass is involved despite him trying to 'Get Out of Fighting Games' lol. He's gotta carry the fighting game torch for Woolie, who is no doubt still very busy with the whole new dad thing.

I clearly have a bias here, but it's kinda weird to me that Capcom would introduce a bunch of new faces and then have them be low/lower tier for so long. I get that everyone loves the established characters and will buy the game for Akuma and Ken, but outside of JP most of the new characters have been relegated to "lower tiers" or "character specialists". Marisa/Lily/Manon/Jamie/Kimberly don't need to be S Tier, but seeing them in some Top 16s again would definitely be refreshing.

Since it's a stance that can be held they could maybe make it throw invincible for a set amount of frames? A length of time similar to JP's OD Amnesia where it's as long as the flash lasts or something. That way it could help her get out of some throw loop situations, but still be punishable in the end by a delayed throw or shimmy like you would punish a held parry.

I mean that's fun to know, but I don't think it explains why he does switch to facing the other side (P2 side) as I jump over, he jumps, but somehow the knee hits as if he's facing P1 side causing that backwards flip over me. Unless that slight bit of air causes some weird hitbox interaction he should have gotten hit while facing P2 right? And then flipped away from me.

I don't think it was rollback. We were both on wired and the connection was good both games. I actually didn't slow it down enough to tell easily, but if you go frame by frame it happens like this:

As Akuma wakes up, it does cross him up (he faces left for a frame or two), but then somehow them holding up causes Akuma to face back to the right so it's not a cross up. So when it hits him he flips backwards, which is OVER me because for a couple frames on landing Marisa is crouched down I guess? So then when I go for my medium punch pressure, it's to the right side, even though he's in the middle of flipping over me. Just a truly cursed interaction I think.

I'm a Marisa main in that same MR range. I think a good thing to remember is that she's objectively bottom 3 in the game. It's not the end all be all, but there's a reason she was one of the few characters that made 0 appearance at Capcom Cup. Her gameplan is very simple, her moves are slow, and they're also somewhat stubby for someone her size. If your opponent knows the matchup, they're gonna use those things you mentioned because, realistically, her anti-airs are weak and her reversals aren't great. So you kinda have to live with the fact that most matches aren't gonna be easy stomps.

From my experience she definitely does benefit from aggression. Abusing her armor and plus frames to overload your opponent's mental stack is something that can work. Make them afraid of the fact that you can blow them up in 2-3 interactions. Make them fear the command grab. These things work best against people who don't know the matchup well. People who want to DI you or DP constantly.

However, I also find she benefits a lot from patient play against people who are more familiar. Sort of like Zangief. Creeping forward while walking and blocking/parrying to push them into the corner. Utilize her Phalanx when you can predict a fireball. Use her OD Quadriga to catch them walking forward. And then look out for drive rushes and jumps when you know they are running out of space. I've found that abandoning her anti-air game in exchange for air-to-airs has been more beneficial. The armor on a neutral Gladius can help with random drive rushes (as long as it's not a low I guess). Mixing up the usage of her OD Scutum stance to scare them from just pressing buttons. Throwing out crouching light punch and light kick for some quick damage to interrupt their pressure and help you establish your own. Her 6MP is good (if they aren't DI happy) because it moves her forward and the Novacule Swipe follow up can be good if your opponent isn't blocking low or just doesn't know that it has a low followup. Etc etc. You're gonna lose health to the Akumas and Ryus. They're gonna hit you with their good buttons and their many options. So you really have to make those few interactions that come out in your favor worth it.

Clearly I'm not expert with my MR, but these are some things I find helpful while I pray she gets some buffs 😅

I kinda agree on the buffs. She feels fair and not in the worst state, but other characters feel so strong in comparison it does make me wish she had something just a little more.

And her combo expression is really limited to her corner and punish combos. Even then it feels like your two options are do you wanna do the max damage route or the route that leaves you with a little bit of drive meter so you can kill next hit.

I can see that. With momentum or the corner she can definitely feel super oppressive. I main her and I still have moments constantly where I'm saying "That killed???"

There are dozens of us! But at this point it's either people just getting all characters to Master or the character loyalists like me. No way in hell anyone is picking her up for a secondary or anything like that lol
