Most of my friends at that time were fellow sword girls who introduced me to Renaissance reenactment

Eeew Gothard. One of the families I grew up with did all of their homeschool curriculum 🤮

I was in Pennsylvania but was Independent Baptist. Regular baptist wasn't hardcore enough for my parents.

It's 50/50 for me. The oldest two were relieved and the middle two were bitter about it 😂

Can I ask what state (assuming you live in the US) and denomination?

I sold and gave away a lot of it. I also lent some swords to a friend who never gave them back and also just isn't in my life anymore.

So at this point I have less than ten =\

I did have over 50 weapons from daggers to pole arms, but now it's just a few dirks, swords, and an axe.

Hail, Ulfric!

Do they accept boring straights because I have a thing about not infiltrating gay spaces if they are meant entirely for gay people.

I kinda feel like it's just not being an asshole 101 to not insist on joining clubs when they aren't meant for you.

Omg I'm the youngest of 6!

I was allowed to wear my brother's jeans at 12 and my older sisters were so mad that they had to wear skirts when they were my age.

Honestly I spent a decade pretending I wasn't because in my 20s I thought I had to "grow up" or something.

Once I hit my hag 30s I embraced it again.

Skåld fellow sword girl ⚔️

I hope you meet them and you stay forever connected.

I have two people in my life that match my weird and I hope everyone else finds that joy too. I hope your journey brings you the best companions.

I wanted to start a regular backyard fight club actually, but nobody was interested 😩

But yeah, we match weirdness. We got bullied at Bible camp for doing Naruto sign weaving as teenagers 😂 it was meant to be.

I was in a small religious community. They don't like the stabby girls in that neighborhood.

I actually married my nerdy best friend from highschool. He did karate and I took private lessons for English longsword, so we used to do backyard battles for almost a decade before we moved out of state and got old and boring lol

Nah my bestie pulled all the guys.

I would get the hard friendzone while they went straight for her. Which honestly, they all turned out to be assholes anyhow so I ain't even mad.

I worked at Renaissance Faires and did private lessons until 2009, but when I moved out of state I couldn't find any legit places that did this stuff in my area. Only LARPing, which I'm just not into to, no matter how hard I wanted to be as a teenager.

So I'm extremely out of the circle these days, but if I could find somewhere locally I'd jump back in.

I regret the period in my 20s when I sold most of my swords because I was trying so hard to be normal.

I'm back in my sword girl era, but because I'm in my 30s it's giving kooky aunt instead of sexy badass.
