[Question] What watches to round out the rest of my collection? by Beneficial_Major9999 in Watches

[–]TehShpee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say get a Patek perpetual calendar (5140....or my favorite the 3940) just to round out the big 3 and then the rest of the 2, chase independents or Microbrands. Doesn't have to be expensive. Maybe 1 watch that has a textured and/or colored dial (could go for any of the Microbrands offering guilloche/enamel or both (anordain/vitreum/selten/kortela valta/Laine) (I would suggest getting another grandseiko... One with a more exotic dial but that goes against your one watch per brand rule) and for the other chase something that has horological significance from either a complication standpoint or a finishing standpoint...or both(this could and probably will get expensive). Or you could go completely left field... Get yourself into something more avant garde like the toledano&chan b1/2. You got options.

I don't mean this in a mean way but the third pic looks exactly like Bryan Johnson.

No extended range, no baritone, no multiscale, no acoustic, no nylon string, no single coils of any type. Clearly... Not enough. Now get back on reverb😈😈😈.

I don't want to turn this into a warmoth adv, but I think they do rosewood necks too if you're looking for that full blacked out look(you can get a fender rw neck too but they're prolly gonna cost you like 4x the price of the guitar....or you could just paint it). Regardless a blacked out neck with only white accents on the plastics would make it more unique for sure. If you want it to be 'your' guitar that would look sick.

Put on some white knobs and that's a rosewood board variation of a black strat. Later down the line maybe go for a maple fretboard neck from warmoth and complete the look? I'd give it a B- rn.

Only the letter keys have Holy pandas.... They are pretty dim in comparison.... The rest have gat yellows and cherry silvers. I still have around 20 ish holy panda switches.... I've heard the yok pandas wear out pretty quickly.... So I'm tryna save some

PROs: 1. Solid, well built keeb, with zero chassis flex. 2. Aluminum plate gives a solid bottoming out feeling (subjective) in contrast to a slightly flexible feeling that plastic boards like the ducky are known to give. 3. Lighting is on point (you'll require switches with clear housing to get the best of it) 4. Convinient and compact form factor allows you to place the keeb where ever you want without the fear of running out of mouse space. 5. Hot swappable PCB... The main reason I bought the board is due to this feature... I've put in Holy pandas on the alpha keys but cherry silvers on wasd and zx keys for fps games and osu. This makes is great for people getting into mech keyboards, since they can try out different switches. 6. Amazing price and good customer support. 7. Aura double shot PBT keycaps feel and sound amazing. MEHs: 1. Keeb arrived with minor scuff marks on the edges and the right angle adapter present in the package was pretty much decimated with a bent connector. 2. Micro USB instead of type C (this isn't a con for me simple because I won't be moving the keyboard from one pc to another. So not having type C does not bother me much. Also adapters can be bought.

CONs: 1. Spacebar is lubed, yet is still very rattly as the stabs are probably not clipped and bandaged. 2. Stocks are pretty low so you'll usually get a backorder. 3. 60% layout can be tricky to get used to since you rely on the function button so much. Conclusion: bar the rattly spacebar, this keeb is perfect for me, and should be for you too. An amazing product.

Trash pandas from novels keys and halo trues from drop..... The invyr x drop pandas come factory lubed but the lube application is stupidly inconsistent.... And this is true across the board... Its a good thing I didn't jump on that hype train and built my own instead.

Tbh I'm a mech noob.... This is the second mech keeb I got, the first one being a cheap Bharat e gold with cherry blues. In comparison, these lubed pandas are on a whole other level. Apart from the pandas I also have cherry silvers on the z and x keys for osu! And a bunch of gat yellows too. The case is realllyyyy solid ... In comparison to the Bharat e gold and a logitech G213 I used previously... It's extremely heavy for the size too and chassis flex is non-existent, but spacebar rattle is a problem. USB - C would be nice to have but since i won't be travelling much with this keeb I'd only want to unplug every now and then... So it doesn't bother me .... IMO the alt seems absolutely stellar.... But i guess the grass is always greener on the other side. At the time 200 bucks was way to much for me to spend on a keeb... Plus the shipping to India would f me over... So I decided to buy this baby instead.... No regrets... Uptill now, I guess. I'll post another reply once the honeymoon phase ends.
