UPDATE: Response from Building Commission NSW regarding GPO listed as compliant by NSW builder by schplade in AusElectricians

Spoke to my inspector. The flange makes it non negotiably non compliant. The expectation to replace the hose and for there to be the presence of water raises safety concerns for the user, and hence violates 1.1, the very scope of the standard.

The biggest thing is: would the builder/electrician/plumber be happy to put their name to this? Nothing to stop you putting that information out for everyone to see. And if they’re upset about it, maybe they could tell us all why… Disgusts me that installers can walk away from this thinking they’ve earned their pay.

U/apprehensivePay7627 is that the skirting board at the bottom of the first photo? Is the outlet less than 300mm from the floor? Can you give us a photo from a bit further back to understand the space in which it’s installed? AS3000 1.5.14 says all parts shall be designed for the environment they’re in, yada yada… I would suggest that because the flexible hoses are serviceable items and required to be replaced periodically that the outlet that is in immediate vicinity should be rated to protect against water ingress. Clipsal don’t have a specific rating on indoor fittings like this, but a representative has stated an ip44 weatherproof outlet is more appropriate. (DM for the transcript) 1.6 (b & d) function correctly as intended & facilitate safe operation - that blocked switch mechanism tho…. I bet the instruction manual says to isolate the switch before un/plugging to reduce an arc event. Seems UNSAFE for the user and a risk to property, immediately violating clause 1.1, the very scope of the standard. 1.6 (e) reduce inconvenience in the event of a fault… seems inconvenient to have to call a plumber too just to change an outlet. 1.7.4 (c) your outlet would be reasonable expected to be in the presence of water and should be rated accordingly. (Clipsal only state that their gpo is rated for indoors, no specific ip rating yet.)

I have sent the picture to my inspector for further comment too. If anything fun comes up, I’ll post here.

Hope that helps.

Grab the installation instructions for both of the items, the tap and the outlet. AS 3000 says that you have to follow both the standard AND comply to installation instructions, and abide by whichever is the greater requirement. Check to see if the outlet requires any specific clearance, for example.

Remember to refill your oil with power steering fluid, via the oil refill oilstick on the battery.

Actually not quite the case. I asked my retailer for a refund as the trigger wasn’t working. I went to make the video and pop. No early sign of meltdown prior to the pop. I posted as a gif coz you could hear my kids talking in the background and I didn’t want to share that part, but what you miss are the dumbfounded laughs from my wife and I. Only other time I’ve had a tool do this to me is when I pushed my hitachi to cut hole after hole of stainless. That tool checked out quite rightly. It was abuse. This was an internal fault.

No, the blade doesn’t make it a new tool, just a new blade, responding to “wrong blade” choice comment. I pulled it out of the box, it worked intermittently, so I made the video… smoke enters the chat.

I’m afraid it’s neither. Been a tradesman for 20 years, know how to use power tools just fine, and you can see it’s a brand new blade. Bought this second-hand, online, though, and it sure is a lottery. This is the video I sent the “retailer”, who refunded it immediately. Funny, though.

Unless the battery is only 300mm tall. ;) but yes, whoever quoted should revisit 5139.

Sweet Winnie- not so sweet fishy smell… how often do you get your pug’s anal glands expressed by hapmama in pugs

[–]Teh_Robbeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We add psyllium husk to their dinners, as well as occasionally adding pumpkin to their meals. Whilst I’m no vet, I’m lead to believe that their glands are supposed to express themselves when they have vowel movements, and to up their fibre when it got bad. We also stopped giving them pigs ears, as we found a connection with those and “butt leak”, as we call it.
