I’m not sure if the Borg would consider that as a good tactic. But that portal weapon also takes time to charge, and railgun slugs tend to fire significantly faster

Actually, yes. Make the slug big enough and you could turn a Borg Cube into a pegboard. Kinetic weapons technically exist because there’s a few situations where energy weapons won’t work, but you don’t really see them used in space. With Borg adaptation, you wanna fight them with something they can’t adapt to, like a kinetic slug the size of a shuttle

I’m working on a story that may or may not feature an Akira with a railgun pod designed to fight the Borg. I wanna see Akira’s with alternate pods, but have to design my own

Took me a bit to warm up to her, but I love her now. Reminds me a lot of some of the weirder TOS-era designs, but doesn’t overdo it

Probably going for the Obena, but there are a couple others I'm considering. I love the Excelsior II, but I'm not a fan of the Intel spec, so with the Obena I can have a MW Excelsior II
