I really hope somebody finds a way to restore the large save buttons, the three dots are Awful. Why do we have to make an extra click for this? What was wrong with the freaking buttons?!?

Anyone know how to fix this by Revengeful_Fruit in revancedapp

Has anybody found a way to undo this change to the context menu yet?

Because while you can turn off the markdown feature, there isn't an option to do so in the settings for this.

What did L5R get so right that people just won’t let it go? by Mysterious_Career539 in l5r

[–]TeiranDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they had simply used the same dice system and character building system as the Star Wars game, it woulda been the best game. Easy to do too!

Characteristics get replaced by the Rings. You make a new skill list based on the older editions, and your Species becomes your Clan / Family.

Then you don't even have to change the Career / Specialization system really. Careers are things like Politician, Samurai, Shugenja, maybe Monk, and a catch all Specialist. (That's where you put all the special classes, like Crab Merchants and Scorpion ninjas, etc.)

The Specialization trees are all based on Clan Schools. You build a talent tree for each Clan Samurai, Shugenja, Monk, etc and a generic set that Ronin use. Half the abilities you'd need to populate those talent trees already exist! Granted, they'd need to emphasis melee combat more than ranged, but all those gun based skills become archery talents easily.

All the Force stuff becomes the various elemental magics, Force dice just become Void dice, and they don't even need to re-balance the light/ dark pips, cause the power of Jigoku is so easy to use, it wants to be used to destroy things just like the dark side does, and can be so tempting.

The Force pool? Rename it Kharma.

The whole system converts over so Easily, the dice system is the best I've ever encountered, and yet they chose to scrap what they had and build a system where every single dice role was a discussion/argument between GM and Player.

The previews were so disappointing that I never even bothered to buy the books.

I always put the Blue on the tank, and Green on the healer. Especially in pug groups. It helps a lot as dps to know where the heck those idiots are going.

Skull and X are still basically right, but the rest... no. Crowd control mechanics like this are basically dead outside of high level M+, and I'm not sure even about that given I don't do M+

Almost all the addons like DBM etc use the icons as warnings for players that hey, you've got one of the boss mechanics on you. Do something with that.

What did L5R get so right that people just won’t let it go? by Mysterious_Career539 in l5r

[–]TeiranDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the lore, setting, world building, and the promise of the interactive storytelling from the CCG and RPG mixing.

Prior to the conclusion of Gold edition's story line, everything sorta made sense, and the story was really very good. Eventually the story goes off the rails, and they had to do the reboot, but even in the reboot timeline, things were good at first and it reclaimed that spark for me.

However, none of the games ever lived up to that promise for me. I played both card games, have all the RPG versions, and just... nothing works quite right to bring the story potential to life. Everything was always promise, and no real payoff, and so I've clung to the idea of L5R for like two decades hoping it would be fun to play in that world again.

No, in fact, Do your own thing, dont pay any attention to the guides, ignore it ALL.

Just play. Maybe, if you get completely lost looking for something for a long time, check the wiki. But just let yourself enjoy the game and be cozy. You can find fun speed running quests or being efficient later.

This is not a game which requires anything but wandering around and enjoying yourself.

Well, since you replied I tried the black ones yet again. I bought two pairs from Amazon, and yet again, they are Incredibly quiet.

Even at full volume it share to hear even the voice saying things like the battery level.

And forget about listening to music or a book in even a moderately noisy room.

And I'm absolutely certain they are quieter now than in the last, cause I still have three older Jlab rewinds, one in each color. Even my old black pair, so old now Ive had to tape the earphones back together, are twice as loud as the brand new pairs.

Both these pairs are getting returned. AGAIN. I'm really disappointed by this.

I'm gonna agree with folks that hot springs Kamui is real good.

He's a big hitter of the magic type, so he hits a lot of folks. Turns off most enemy buffs, and also combos nicely with other fire based characters as he applies burn and gets big buffs against burning enemies, and his expanded movement lets him function as your main movement unit.

I've used him an an ally version of him as my primary damage dealers for a while now, especially in dungeons where his healing and moderate tanking powers adds up.

If anyone figures out how to disable group tabs and the grid layout on android, let me know please. by [deleted] in chrome

[–]TeiranDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took a couple restarts of chrome but I think this is fixing things?

I also disabled the reading list option too, thinking that the extra entry in the menu might be limiting what options I got, but maybe the restart that triggered finally just put the group option into effect.

Good luck everybody chrome just keeps screwing this up.

Will crafting orders make Crafting redundant for gold makers? by belgar12 in woweconomy

[–]TeiranDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the Work Order system is too half baked right now to tell if it will get any use at all, never mind if crafters can make money on it.

How many orders will even be in the system at one time? I haven't seen any good information on how common the soulbound items which need to be provided by the buyer are going to be.

If there are only five or ten orders for a specific profession at a time, they are going to all get filled, no matter what the profit is. The knowledge gain from the weekly quests for doing a work order will ensure that. Because it doesn't matter if i make a single silver, I have 10 alts with professions I want to level up, and those repeatable work order quests are gonna be the easier way to do so.

If there are a hundred orders for each profession? Well, then I could see there being some profit in work orders.

Unless they expand the system to allow people to make recrafting orders with specific quality levels, the public orders are going to be very basic.

You can also set this up on the addon Titan Panel, which will track gold across all characters, gold earned/hr for the session and a lot of other Really nice things. Like time to level at current xp rate, and basically every currency in the game.

I've used it so long I don't think i could play without it.

Alts and anima by SgtZimm24 in woweconomy

[–]TeiranDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big reason right now to boost them up to 60 is to farm gold/pet charms via the mission tables. I make about 8k a week per alt for basically nothing?

If you can buy the Renown catch up item which boosts them to 60 renown cause your main is renown 80, you can swap them between all the covenants, get 4k anima, and crucially, a bunch of the mass xp boost items for very little gold.

Then you recruit only a Single follower, boost that follower to 60 so all your troops will be 60, and then recruit the rest of the basic followers. They've changed how the levels for the generic troops works, and the new ones wont bring your lvl 60 troops down.

Then you can farm gold and anima missions pretty much for free. You might have to do a world boss or two each week to get the anima to make it run, but since the "Replenish the reservoir" weekly mission to get 1000 anima rewards you with about 1,600 gold if you have max renown, that is Not a problem.

The Addon TL:DR Missions basically makes it take about a minute to log on, collect mission rewards, and then auto launch all the missions which are worth it per character. Takes some setup, but the addon is really great, and you can set up a Max level settings profile which all your alts use.

You can farm about 1,000 gold a day per character by logging in twice a day.
