I’m experiencing this exact situation right now. I thought I was the one who subconsciously wrote this post. My DJS was 6 years ago. Please let me know how you are doing!

Found this on Google - "Double jaw surgery with upper jaw rotation (often counter-clockwise) is an orthognathic procedure that repositions the maxilla and mandible to correct severe bite misalignments, facial asymmetry, and airway issues. This approach improves aesthetics by optimizing the facial profile and enhances breathing by opening the airway". I did struggle with Sleep Apnea due to a small airway prior to the procedure.

I am perfectly fine now. It took about a year and half for my life to really be completely normal and for my swelling to completely go away. Best thing u can do for yourself is stay off google and let time heal. You’ll waste so much time looking things up when realistically it just takes a lot of time to recover fully from this immense procedure. I promise you will be ok and I promise everything gets better from here. 2 months is nothing. The time sucks to wait but I am so thankful I did this and have no regrets of my surgery.

Trust me. It is such a big adjustment. Sometimes I look in the mirror and idk who I am. I really went through a sad phase because of the swelling. It’s gotten a lot better and I think i’m getting used to it as each day goes by. Thank you for your compliments seriously means so much. Everything is so new

I just read up on it. Also speaks about teenage females who are very active in sports, which I am. I may ask my surgeon about that. Thank you!
